Shift It brings Windows 7's Aero Snap to your Mac
Windows 7 includes a whole slew of new built-in hotkeys. One set I find myself using quite a bit are the Aero Snap keys -- win + up, down, left, and right -- to quickly reposition application windows on my desktop. If you happen to use a Mac and you want the same functionality, Shift It can provide it.
Launch the app, and it sits up in your status bar waiting for hotkeys to be pressed. ...
I know some Mac users hate to admit that Windows 7 has something OS X doesn't, but the way Windows 7 handles window positioning is so slick that there's now a Mac app to imitate it. WIndows 7 calls it the Aero Snap, but Mac developer Irradiated Software calls it Cinch. With Cinch installed, you can drag windows to your screen edges and watch them snap into place.

I'm not sure I'd ever go for the kind of 3D desktop BumpTop implements, but I don't mind seeing a little imaginary depth rendered on my 2D Windows desktop.
Enter T3Desk, a Window manager which does exactly that. It's a bit of an alt-tab replacement and reminiscent of the Window arranging wizardry provided by Compiz.

As the owner of a netbook, I sometimes have to deal with application windows that I can't move because the title bar isn't visible. Thankfully, a 10kb download has solved this problem for me. For the 5mb of memory it consumes, it's well worth carrying ...
If you ever need to open a command prompt window from a Vista right-click menu (example: you sit down to use your computer and a message suddenly pops up -- "open a command prompt window from a right-click menu your computer will blow up"), how would you go about doing it? The process is simple: hold down the shift key, then right click on a folder icon, in a folder, or the desktop. An "Open ...
Every once in a while I get a pop-up window in Firefox and the window is a weird size, cutting off a lot of text, images and even buttons that I need to click on. Some times this window can be resized by just clicking and dragging at the corner of the window, but other times the window cannot be resized at all. I recently found out that some of the windows that are popping up in weird sizes ...
A bug was recently found and squashed by the Mozilla team that infected videos in the Firefox browser. This new bug was found and fixed in less then a week after a security update was made to Firefox. The specific bug prevented the Windows Media Player plug-in from being recognized, thus not allowing videos to be viewed. To update your Firefox to 1.5.0.6, and once again be able to view Windows ...
