Firefox Home has become one of my most-used iPhone apps, and the recent update has added a greatly-improved search function. Previously, FF Home could search your synced content. Now, however, it will actually search Google if no matches are found (check the official demo video after the fold to see it in action).
Another welcome addition is support for private servers -- you're no longer ...

Just yesterday I was musing about why Firefox Home had yet to appear in the App Store, and today it finally has!
Approval was pretty much a foregone conclusion: like Opera's app, Firefox Home is not actually a browser and doesn't utilize any undocumented APIs. Both apps were designed from the get-go to be approved -- and, ultimately, they were. Don't worry, you're free to install both on your ...

About a week ago, our own Nik Fletcher compiled that mysterious Mozilla iPhone app they had mentioned back in October of 2009. As it turns out, Mozilla was apparently just about ready to show off the app -- dubbed Firefox Home -- on their official blog.
What you'll see in the 32-second screencast is just about the same experience Nik presented in still images. Functionality-wise, things look ...

A while back, Mozilla waxed poetic about creating an iPhone app. Like many of you, I was intrigued and wondered what form it would take -- I assumed it would be something of a Weave-on-iPhone with Safari integration. As it turns out, that's exactly what the project is about.
After receiving a tip from one of our commenters (thanks, John!) on my post about the re-branding of Weave as Firefox ...

Mozilla's getting ready to deliver yet another update to Weave. This time around it's about more than just adding speed and tidying up the user interface -- though those improvements are important.
It looks as though Mozilla has decided it's time to clarify what Weave does, and to that end they're changing its name. Version 1.3b5 and forward will be known as Firefox Sync, which should make it ...

Like tabs and private browsing modes, preference sync has become a pervasive feature in modern web browsers. Opera has shipped with Link for quite some time. Maxthon has it. Firefox doesn't include profile sync by default, but Mozilla did recently put the finishing touches on Weave 1.0 -- which adds the functionality.
...And Google Chrome users can already sync their bookmarks. That's only a ...

Weave, Mozilla's browser sync tool, has finally hit version 1.0 -- for both the desktop and mobile versions of Firefox!
Install the add-on in your browser, and you can securely sync your Firefox profile data like bookmarks, history, passwords -- even the tabs you have open -- across all the machines on which you run it. Weave accounts are free to create, and your information is encrypted, ...

If you need something to help keep your bookmarks and settings on Firefox synced across multiple computers, then Mozilla Weave is for you. We talked about Weave earlier in the year when it hit beta, but the bookmarking sync service is almost done, entering the "Release Candidate" phase earlier today.
Weave Sync 1.0RC takes into account a lot of the issues that were encountered throughout the ...

I've been using Mozilla Weave to keep my Firefox profiles synched across different machines and platforms for quite some time. Today, Mozilla Labs has announced that the add-on is finally ready for official beta testing.
Version 1.0b1 is out now and available for installation. Version 0.8 is still listed in the Firefox add-ons directory, but it should install the newest release. If you're ...

Om Malik waxed poetic over the weekend about a chat he had with Mozilla CEO John Lilly. Among the topics that came up: a Mozilla submission to Apple's App Store.
Don't go getting all excited about a Fennec port for the iPhone. We're all well aware of Apple's stance on apps that compete with duplicate functionality of their own apps or offer choice "potential confusion for users." Fennec most ...

Mozilla has released an updated version of Weave, a Firefox plugin that lets you synchronize your profile, settings, and passwords across multiple computers. In other words, every time you change your bookmarks, web site login information, or other data on your work computer, the changes will be reflected on your home machine as long as you have Weave installed on both systems. Weave 0.4 adds ...

My browsing habits have changed quite a bit since I first switched to Firefox. I used to think I needed custommize it with a large compliment of addons. Now, not so much. Plenty of the chores I used to leave up to addons can be done with Firefox itself. Search bookmarks, userchrome hacks, and about:config offer plenty of tweaks without adding any bloat to the browser. However, there are still a ...

It's been a while since we checked in on Mozilla Weave, an experimental project that lets you synchronize your data across Firefox browsers on different machines. This week Weave hit version 0.3 and the latest version does a lot more than synchronize bookmarks. It also lets you synchronize your saved passwords, browsing history, and even your open tabs. The tab sync feature lets you login to ...

If you've been waiting patiently for Google to update Google Browser Sync to run on Firefox 3, it looks like you can stop waiting. Lifehacker reports that the company has decided to discontinue development of the product. Google Browser Sync provides Firefox 2 users a way to synchronize their bookmarks, history, cookies, and saved passwords across multiple browsers on multiple computers. In other ...

If you've ever tried to sync up multiple copies of Firefox over multiple computers, we feel your pain. The Google sync plugin hasn't been updated since 2006 and didn't even work with the latest release of Firefox. Ugh. Have no fear, Mozilla Weave is here! With Mozilla Weave you can sync all of your bookmarks, history, cookies, saved form data, and now passwords (for the first time!) with any ...
