One click; just one single well-aimed click. That's all you get in Boomshine.
That single click triggers a chain reaction; circles start exploding, and other circles colliding with the shockwaves explode as well, creating their own shockwaves, which then catch other circles.
It's been done before, yes, but this one is a great iteration. The soundtrack is mellow, with lots of piano and some ...

Once upon a time, there used to be a DOS game with a caveman and a human powered helicopter. The caveman would shuttle around the screen, madly trying to get customers to where they wanted to go.
Jetbus is not that game, but it's obviously inspired by it. You're driving a yellow school bus which has jets. I guess the jet engine takes quite a bit of space inside the bus, because you can only ...

Last week I wrote about Xeno Defense and this week I found Tesla Death Ray, which is almost as addictive, but is clad in a somewhat different costume.
It's a tower defense game in which you have to zap your enemies to oblivion. Much like in Xeno Defense, at the end of each level you get to the store and can use your hard-earned points to purchase upgrades and repair your tower.
Unlike Xeno ...

If you're a skilled touch-typist, this time-waster isn't for you. But if you're just learning to touch-type (or have recently switched to a superior layout), Z-Type might prove a nice way to practice your typing skills while having a bit of fun.
It's a basic shooter game: Spaceships come at you from the top, and you need to shoot and destroy them before they hit the bottom and destroy you. You ...

This game had me at the intro. I usually don't care for the intros many of these games have; I often tend to skip them, even if it sometimes means not understanding the game as well as I could. But when Fade loaded, there was a message written in tiny letters saying I can skip the intro, but that it is highly recommended to continue. I decided to heed the message, and I'm happy I did! It's truly ...

Imperfect Balance is a very simple game: You have a bunch of blocks on a "stage" in the middle of the screen, and your goal is to make them all fall off.
You do this by using other blocks: There are several blocks you can use on each level; you pick a block and rotate it using A and D (or W and S for finer angles). Once you have it at the angle you want, simply click to drop it. It's not an ...

Sushi Cat was one of the most addictive Time Wasters I played last year, both on my desktop and my iPod touch. Now, thanks to the the crew at Armor Games, there's now a sequel to the cat vs. sushi Pachinko-style madness. Sushi Cat 2 is every bit as addictive as the original, and it's also got some fun new tweaks.
One thing I noticed right off is that your plus-size kitty no longer gets wedged ...

Who doesn't like flying paper planes? I know I do, but I can never make them quite right – they never fly for more than a few seconds. Flight has just given me another chance to fulfill my lifelong dream of flying a paper plane all the way to London, England!
The background story is not the best – a lonely girl is sending a note to Santa to bring her mommy home for Christmas (not ...

Man in Gap is not about a guy trying to find his way around a Gap store; the gap is quite literal here, as you can see in the screenshot.
Basically, each level is composed of a ceiling and a floor, which snap together quite suddenly. As can be expected, when that happens and you're caught in-between, you're squished to a very thin line of pixels. Not so good.
What makes it even worse is ...

Take Galcon Fusion, and imagine that instead of planets, you've got "barracks" spewing soldiers. Add funky background music and audio clips such as "Enemy down", "On my way Sir!", and you've got ControlCraft.
You start off the game with one set of "barracks" (a circle, basically – like a planet in Galcon) producing soldiers. There are empty circles on the map, but your enemy is moving ...

The shark is a majestic creature; it's also pretty dangerous. When Paranormal Shark Activity starts off, you're just a dude hanging out on the pier. You quickly discover there's no way to go left (back to the city or the port, presumably) – there's only one choice, which is to keep going right, into the water.
Once you go into the water, the actual game starts. A huge (and I do mean ...

117,944 – that's my final score in Xeno Defense. I think this is the first Time Waster I found addictive enough to actually play all the way to the end. It is a casual game – you don't have to finish it to enjoy it. But it was easy enough, and definitely addictive enough, for me to just finish. It took me about half an hour, I think.
There's a story line, but it's not very ...

Let me start of by saying there's nothing NSFW about Balls in Space; I mean, not that playing any Flash game is very "safe for work", but Balls in Space isn't NSFW in that way, if you know what I mean (hint hint, nudge nudge, say no more!).
Now that we've got that out of the way, let me tell you about the game: You're a ball. On your own, you can run and jump, and that's about it. But as with ...

Remember Effing Hail? Well, Effing Meteors belongs to the same genre, but with a couple of interesting twists.
You're looking at a side-view of a planet, complete with its layers of atmosphere. Above the planet, in space, there are meteors. These are hurtling towards the planet, but they're often not large enough to survive entering through the atmosphere, so they burn along the way.
Your ...

It's not often that I see 3D attempted in Flash, and to be honest, after playing A Small Car I can see why.
It's not that it's not a fun game – otherwise I wouldn't mention it as a potential Time Waster. It's just very frustrating. Your job is to steer a car over a complex course, hanging in mid-air, to the checkered "landing zone" at the end of each level. You sometimes need to jump, ...
