Google has updated its Books app for iOS today, and the new version brings a handful of bug fixes, performance improvements, and a couple of new features. One of these is iPad-specific: reading books in the landscape orientation on Apple tablets is now possible. The second is the addition of a Find feature which shows you all the matches for a particular query as you scroll.

Quickoffice has updated its paid Pro app for Android yesterday, bringing it to version 4.0. The company says this is the biggest update of its Android application yet, and many new features have been added. Perhaps the most notable is the added ability to save files in the cloud. GroupMe, the group texting and call conferencing service that made its name by relying on SMS to send group messages, has launched an application for BlackBerry smartphones. Google Docs introduced its OCR feature last year, and its addition was a welcome one for anyone who uploads photgraphed or scanned documents like receipts, faxes, or other dead-tree materials.
