The kind and fantabulously generous Sir Awesome of Touch Arcade has compiled a huge list of games that have had their prices slashed this holiday season. If you're after more of a 'curated' list, with actual links to iTunes, they have a blog post up with their list of must-have discounted games.
Most games on the list seem to have undergone massive, more-than-50% discounts. Need for Speed ...

Cakes are nice and all, but phenomenal sales figures are even sweeter. That's what Microsoft is celebrating today.
Over at the Windows Team Blog, Brandon LeBlanc reports that Windows 7 has sold more than 240 million copies so far. That's not too shabby for just over a year on the market. The post also goes on to say that Windows 7's global market share is closing in on 20%.
While the numbers ...

Earlier today, Lee Mathews told you how Windows 7 had passed Vista in OS market share, and how Windows XP still seems to have a little gas left in its tank. But what of Mac OS X? Things are looking okay, but not great, for Apple's desktop operating system, which lost ground for the 4th straight month, according to the July report from Net Applications (as reported by ComputerWorld).
Apple's ...

I have been wanting to add visitor chat to my company's website for a while now. I think that when you have a fairly small site (for a small company), chat is a great way to get to know your customers and make them feel at home.
An added bonus of using visitor chat is that it gives you a bit of real-time tracking data; you (the operator) can see approximately how many visitors are on your site at ...

Microsoft just reported its quarterly earnings, and things are looking pretty good. The official Windows Blog reports that Windows 7 has hit 175 million licenses sold, which adds up to more than 7 copies EVERY SECOND since release.
Wow! Looking at the overall picture, that means 16% of the world's personal computers are now running Windows 7 (and maybe more, if you account for illegal copies). ...

A few days ago, the Microsoft vice president of Corporate Communications shared some figures with the rest of the world. Total sales, downloads, visitors, subscriptions -- numbers. It's a blog post of numbers.
TechCrunch calls it passive-aggressive. I call it smug, reassured braggatry -- the kind that only 800lb gorillas can pull off. If you want a full analysis of the numbers, read ...

On paper, UPLOADnSELL sounds good:
Upload an e-book, music files, software, or anything else.
Send a PayPal link to your customers, via your site or email.
The customer goes to PayPal and pays, and you get the money directly.
UPLOADnSELL gets a notification from PayPal and emails your customer the link to your file.
The customer downloads the file, and everybody's happy.
However, ...

Tinypay.me is a very web2.0 service, which sets you up with a PayPal-driven webpage that you can use to sell just about anything, super-fast. By "super-fast" I mean that you can be up and running in about two minutes. The screenshot you see above is what you get once you decide to purchase an item.
When you offer an item for sale, you can set the price, the quantity, upload pictures and ...

![DLS @ SXSW - Brown Paper Tickets]()
I happened to use Brown Paper Tickets a couple of months ago to buy tickets for a local comedy show. It was just as simple and easy as any other ticketing system I've used, certainly simpler (and faster) than Ticketmaster. But the real magic happens if you are putting a show together. Brown Paper Tickets has the lowest transaction fees and doesn't collect a dime if you don't sell any tickets. ...

It's only been a couple of weeks since Windows 7 was released, but Microsoft's new OS has already captured a larger percentage of the market than Apple's OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and Linux (yes, all of Linux). This doesn't come as a huge surprise, considering how many Windows users were clamoring for Win7 after the flop that is Vista. Microsoft says Windows 7's launch outdid Vista's by 234%. Those ...

In an email to members of its Amazon Associates program, Amazon.com started promoting Twitter integration for affiliate links. People have been posting Amazon links to Twitter for just about as long as Twitter's been around, but now it's an insanely easy two-click process, using the toolbar on any product page. This is good news for Associates, making Twitter a viable place to pick up some extra ...

What if you held a protest and nobody noticed? Unfortunately it happens all the time. And while a group of eBay sellers who are protesting eBay's new fees are getting some media attention for their week-long boycott, the truth is that it's hard to findy any real impact on the auction site. The boycott launched on Monday, and according to Fortune Small Business, eBay listings are down just 3%. ...

A few weeks ago eBay announced plans to change its fee structure. The company was spinning the move as something that would help sellers save money. But that only worked out to be true in some instances. Since eBay planned to lower listing fees but raise final sale fees, most sellers were a bit concerned that they'd wind up giving eBay a higher percentage of their hard earned cash. Responding ...

digg_url = 'http://downloadsquad.switched.com/2007/11/14/tax-free-online-purchases-could-be-a-thing-of-the-past/';So you know how you don't have to pay sales tax on stuff you buy online unless you're buying it from a company that has a physical presence in your home state? Yeah, that could all be over soon. New York Governor Elliot Spitzer has pledged not to raise taxes. But he's got a budget ...

Apple's number one seller has apparently just cancelled its contract to sell digital downloads of their shows via iTunes. NBC Universal was unable to come to an agreement with Apple on pricing, bundling content and more restrictive DRM. This move is yet another grinding moment between Apple and the media companies who are unhappy with Apple for not giving them greater control over the pricing of ...
