Apple removes one of the iPhone's worst features, rate on delete
It's not really clear why it existed in the first place, but Apple plans to remove the "rate on delete" feature from the iPhone OS in version 4.0, according to MacRumors. The feature asked users to assign a star rating to any app they deleted, which would then count in the app's rating on the App Store. Developers didn't like it., because people who delete your app probably aren't going to give it ...
It seems that, in a glorious case of thinly-veiled and slightly-obfuscated smackdown, Apple's new iPhone OS 4 SDK Developer Agreement outlaws cross-compiled applications, such as those made with Adobe's new Packager for iPhone Flash-to-iPhone compiler.
The new legalese reads:
3.3.1 - Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any ...
Apple's iPhone OS 4.0 announcement this morning delivered plenty of features we expected, and some we didn't. In fact, it adds 100 new features in total, and they'll all be in users' pockets this summer. Developers get 1500(!) new APIs that provide access to parts of the phone they've never been able to use before, and a developer preview will be available today.

The help pages for Apple's iPad version of the iWork apps suite are leading some people to conclude that, when iPhone OS 4.0 is unveiled at 10am PDT today, it will include the ability to print documents wirelessly. See, the section on printing in Apple's support documents doesn't say "printing is not supported." It says that "printing directly from iPad is not currently available."
