Evernote has announced that it has reached an important milestone, just passing 5 million users. Also, the latest million users were added in only 83 days, whereas the first million were gathered in a whopping 446 days. As you can see from the graph above, each subsequent million has been added in shorter and shorter periods of time.

Evernote has announced the immediate availability of version 2.0 of its Android application. Obviously, like before, the app will allow you to take notes, photos, record audio, and access all your Evernote data. But it does bring many improvements and feature additions. In fact, Evernote says this is the single biggest leap in functionality any Evernote app has ever received in one release.

Evernote has updated its BlackBerry application to version 3.0.271. While this version doesn't bring any new functionality or features to the app itself, it does come with many improvements that expand Evernote availability to more carriers and in more regions than ever before.
Basically, if your BlackBerry runs BlackBerry OS 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 5.0 or 6.0 and you have access to BlackBerry App ...

Evernote, a popular app for capturing and editing notes, just hit version 4 of its Windows client. Evernote 4 features a completely redesigned user interface and a much faster experience built on native code. It reportedly starts 5 times faster than Evernote 3.5, and only uses half the memory. The Evernote team admitted to having issues with blurry type in version 3.5, so they've fixed that, too. ...

If you're an Evernote fan, their official blog has some good news this morning: the wildly popular cloud-centric note taking app has secured a cool $20 million in funding.
That's a big chunk of cash, and Evernote plans on putting it to good use. "Things are moving pretty quickly at Evernote," Phil Libin writes. "They're about to start moving even faster." Count on seeing more features and ...

Livescribe -- that awesome pen which magically digitizes your handwriting -- can now sync directly with Evernote. For now you'll need Livescribe Desktop for Windows to use this feature, but the updated Mac OS X version should be available next week.
The integration is, as you'd expect from two very smooth services, seamless. Write your notes as usual, connect your pen to your computer, and ...

Evernote, the popular clipping and note-taking service, has announced the availability of a new bookmarking tool called Site Memory. Unlike existing browser-based Evernote clipping methods (like add-ons and the bookmarklet), Site Memory is a button which site owners and maintainers display directly on their own pages.
As a way to promote Evernote, Site Memory is a great idea -- since it will no ...

While I am not an Evernote user myself, I hear it's great. It's a very well-known app, but in a nutshell you could call it a "complete capture tool". It comes as a desktop or mobile app, and lets you save "your ideas, things you see, and things you like".
And now, with the Trunk app store, I just discovered Evernote has its own little ecosystem. It turns out the company has many partners ...

Microsoft just made a play to ensure its future in the era of social networks by ... aggregating everybody else's. Spindex, Microsoft's new social product, gathers your Facebook, Twitter, RSS, Bing and even Evernote into one convenient location. We don't really know much about Spindex yet, but it has the feel of a Friendfeed (which was at least successful enough to be acquired by Facebook) or a ...

There has been a lot of hype around the release of the new Mac note taking app Thoughts by green&slimy software, and it has now been released. We've already got a ton of note taking applications to choose from -- like Evernote and Notational Velocity -- so what does Thoughts bring to the table to set itself apart?
As far as I can tell, Thoughts wants to be the pretty girl at the party. They're ...

One of our favorite people evar, Jordan Running, former lead blogger at Download Squad sent us this great tip as a follow up to yesterday's Google Reader post about sharing stories to social networks and creating custom links. Jordan created a Send To link for Instapaper, a web app that allows you to save web pages for reading later. While he was at it, he made one for Evernote too. Here's the ...

![Evernote comes to the BlackBerry]()
While I'm not as big of an Evernote devotee as some other Download Squad bloggers, I do love the idea. For the uninitiated, Evernote is a service/app combo that is designed to let you capture all the bits of information that you want to save for future access -- business cards, to-do lists, audio messages, photos, screenshots, web links -- and organize those bits so that they are searchable and ...
