Bricked phones force Microsoft to block WP7 update for Samsung devices
Microsoft has "identified a a technical issue with the Windows Phone update process" and summarily blocked Samsung WP7 phones from receiving the new patch.
As we reported yesterday, the new update, which was meant to streamline future updates, bricked some Samsung Omnia phones. Microsoft has identified the issue, however, and is working quickly to push the update back out. It's not yet known ...
Samsung, rather stealthily, has released a Video Editor for its Galaxy S and Vibrant Android 2.2 phones. The APK is available for those of us with different phones, but early reports suggest that it only works on Samsung's flagship phones for now. Keep an eye on the xda-developers thread, though: they will probably work out how to get it running on other phones soon.
Functionality-wise, ...
If you don't know what RAW format is, you can stop reading now. If, on the other hand, you've just bought a brand new camera, shot a few pictures, and then bashed your head against your shiny white miracle machine because it doesn't recognize the file format -- well, I have good news! Apple's Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.3 adds RAW support for a bunch of brand new cameras to Aperture ...
Stealing a jump on Microsoft's own 'Windows Marketplace for Mobile', Samsung have opened the doors to their application store for i900 Omnia owners (provided you live in the UK, France or Italy). We first heard about plans for the Samsung App store a few weeks ago. Containing around 300 applications that can be purchased by credit / debit card, the application store is installed by downloading ...

Our friends at Engadget got a sneak peak at a new Samsung Ultra Messaging device, set to go on sale soon in the Asian markets. What makes this noteworthy is that the device is obviously running a version of Windows Mobile (check out the telltale soft buttons on the bottom, not to mention the Windows logo), but this is most definitely not Windows Mobile 6. Or if it is, it's one heck of a plugin ...
That's gigabyte, not megabyte folks. All the professional photographers with Compact Flash (CF) cameras stood and clapped. Those without CF didn't. Engadget has you covered for this Samsung announcement, but what this means for downloaders is that when new devices come out like Zune, and as they start to include CF card slots, or other types of media, You will be able to pop in a CF card and ...
If you are looking for some kind of product information for your new DVD player or Samsung TV, beware. Samsung's website has a keylogging Trojan lurking around. Please, what ever you do, be careful (as if I need to tell you) . It really sucks to have your computer compromised, not to mention your identity due to someone else's security breach. In general most users should be okay going directly to ...
The music business is like a big cookie. Okay, maybe not, but I heard that line in a movie and thought it was clever. Digital downloads are popular (duh!), and more companies are getting suited up to take their fare share of the cash there is to be made in digital music. Microsoft has been trying to break into the market in a big way for a while, which they hope will really get going when Zune ...

marketing campaign slash upcoming "ultramobile lifestyle PC," I figure I ought to keep you up to speed. The
other day Microsoft updated the Origami Project web site for "Week
