It's not the first browser to get its own app store, but the Opera Mobile Store is... well, another app store. The Store has just launched and is powered by Appia, which offers a white-label app store system for carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, as well as some top-tier handset manufacturers.
The Store will appear on Opera Mobile and Opera Mini Speed Dial pages and give users ...

Opera, now with a combined total of over 100 million Mini and Mobile users, dominates the mobile browser market. While Mobile has a very valiant 15 million users, it is Opera Mini with over 90 million users and 52 billion page views in January 2011 that really steals the show. Those figures don't include phones that come with Opera pre-installed, incidentally.
The maths are more complicated ...

Opera Mobile 10.1 for Symbian has become available yesterday. After a period of public beta testing, the Norwegian browser has become faster than ever -- and is, right now, possibly the fastest browser available for Symbian.

Late last night Opera released version 10.1 of its browser for Android. It's a beta build, and don't be fooled by the version number: it's obviously meant to show that this is the desktop browser, but ported to your phone -- just like Firefox 4 Mobile.
If you've used Opera Mini, the light-weight, designed-for-dumbphones browser, Opera Mobile will feel very familiar to you.
Mobile keeps the ...

Opera's latest mobile browsers are all grown up and ready to leave beta! Opera Mini 5 is good to go on your BlackBerry or other Java-ready phone, and Opera Mobile 10 is out for Symbian and Windows Mobile devices. Opera Mini for Android and WinMo are still in beta, and there's no sign of that rumored Opera Mini for iPhone yet. However, these latest stable versions of Opera's pocket-sized browser ...

Mozilla isn't the only company itching to port its web browser to run on Google's Android operating system. Google announced recently that 60,000 handsets a day are now shipping with Android, and it seems like every day a device maker announces a new Android-based product. So while the WebKit-based browser that comes with Android is decent, it's good to see mobile browser makers looking to give ...

Over the past few years, Opera Mobile has become the browser of choice for the majority of Windows Mobile users. Shipped as the default browser on many devices and available as download for others, Opera Mobile addresses the many failings of the preinstalled IE browser with better performance, variable zoom and text reflowing as well as a polished and intuitive UI.
Pushing the mobile ...

That's at least what they want us to think. On Opera's "Next" web page, you'll see the image above. Remind anyone of the teasers the company posted earlier this year for the Opera Unite alpha? So far there are no clues in the HTML source as there were with Unite. If we're going by the puzzles pieces, the new project is only about 33% complete -- though it's entirely possible that's just what ...

Opera has released a public beta of Opera Mini 4. Like previous versions of the Opera Mini web browser, it will run on any Java enabled phone, and it's probably a lot faster than the browser you're using right now. But there's one killer new feature: zoom. Here's a little screencast we made demonstrating the zoom feature using a web-based Opera Mini 4 emulator.
