Yahoo! hosted their third annual Hack Day this weekend, which basically consists of a ton of hacker/developers hanging out at Yahoo!'s Sunnyvale campus for 24 hours while consuming lots of pizza and trying to write interesting code. Yahoo! announced a new API that allows for developers to access a Yahoo! user's mail preferences, messages, and folders. This allows for the ability to search messages, and get mail from POP accounts. The new SOAP API was officially pre-released at the Yahoo! Hack Day conference on the September 29th.
