Yahoo! Mail's not having the best of times at the moment. It seems as though the IMAP data leak isn't limited to Windows Phone 7; Apple's iPhone is also seeing data racking up to 25 times more than it should. This could cause people hooking up to Yahoo! Mail via the iPhone's push connection to quickly blast through their data allowance just like Windows Phone 7 users.
Yahoo! blamed Microsoft ...

Microsoft has admitted to Paul Thurrott that the "third party app" which has been responsible for mysterious data leakage on Windows Phone 7 is, in fact, Yahoo! Mail. The admission came only hours after Rafael Rivera had already proved this to be the case. Rivera noted that Yahoo! was transmitting about 25 times more data than it needed to. Yikes.
Microsoft originally reported that this issue ...

20-something firmware magician GeoHot (George Hotz) has already been sued by Sony for jailbreaking the PlayStation 3, and caused a major stir in the iPhone dev community when he released limera1n. So what next for the ambitious young hacker? How about taking a stab at Windows Phone 7?

Yesterday, the results of that enquiry were divulged to the Seattle PI and as it turns out, it's someone else's fault:
"We have determined that a third-party ...

A little while back, we told you about Dwolla -- a new payment service with its sights set on challenging PayPal. Dwolla's angle? A flat rate per transaction of $0.25 and no other fees of any kind. It's also integrated with Twitter and Facebook, which makes it easy to send money to (or receive from) the people you're interacting with most online.

The public download for Chevron WP7 -- the jailbreak/sideloading tool for Windows Phone 7 devices -- didn't remain up for long. After initial discussions with Microsoft and a revelation that Redmond was OK with "official homebrew development," the Chevron team decided to take the app offline. It's still floating around, of course, and still being used by developers -- though that may soon change. ...

CEO Steve Ballmer didn't get too specific during his keynote at CES 2011, saying only "Microsoft will release a series of Windows Phone 7 updates over the next few months, including adding the copy-and-paste feature and improving the ...

Though the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace is growing steadily, the platform is still lacking plenty of marquee apps. You can now cross one off the list, however -- popular password manager LastPass has arrived!
