Microsoft has admitted to Paul Thurrott that the "third party app" which has been responsible for mysterious data leakage on Windows Phone 7 is, in fact, Yahoo! Mail. The admission came only hours after Rafael Rivera had already proved this to be the case. Rivera noted that Yahoo! was transmitting about 25 times more data than it needed to. Yikes.
Microsoft originally reported that this issue ...

I am the proud owner of a brand-spanking-new WiFi-only Kindle. The coveted device is currently en route, and I can't wait to be reading off its crisp E-Ink screen in all of its greyscale glory.
Since I'm so anxious to start using it, I decided to get a head start on building up my electronic library. I decided to start with the classics – for example, Moby Dick. Yes, I know it's available ...

The good news is that the latest update to Skype for iPhone finally allows you to make calls over AT&T's 3G network. The bad news is that those calls will cost you a "small monthly fee." The fee starts in August for Skype calls to regular numbers, but Skype-to-Skype calls over 3G will still be free until the end of the year.
The fee makes some sense, because Skype over 3G will likely add ...

Skype and mobile devices go together like peanut butter and jelly. Why make VoIP calls on a computer when you can make them on a device that's designed for phone calls ... your phone? Until this week, the answer was "because my phone doesn't have a mobile version of Skype!" That's about to change for a lot of people, though, as Verizon customers get a mobile version of Skype for BlackBerry and ...

It goes almost without saying that a lot of the people who buy Apple's new iPad will already have Apple's iPhone. Maybe you were thinking, "Well, since I've got an iPhone already, why pay for two data plans? There has to be some way to tether the iPad using the iPhone, right?"
According to Steve Jobs, the answer is a big, fat NO.
Jobs responded to an email from Swedish DJ Jezper ...

Last week Apple changed began allowing third party applications to make VoIP calls over 3G. What that means is that you can make a telephone call over the internet using a wireless broadband connection. The upshot is that you could theoretically use an application like Skype to make free or cheap phone calls while eating up your data minutes instead of your voice minutes. You can also make ...

When the Qik iPhone app first came out back in August, it was hardly the mobile streaming powerhouse Qik fans had been hoping for. Due to Apple's restrictions at the time, Qik had to release a live video streaming app minus the "live". The policy against live streaming has been lifted now, with apps like Ustream Broadcaster leading the way, so Qik is back with Qik Live, the app they should have ...

Apple seems to be loosening up its rules about streaming video over 3G via iPhone apps, allowing streaming players and broadcasters like Ustream and Qik into the App store.
EyeTV -- a streaming TV provider -- isn't even taking the chance of rejection, though. Instead, they've launched an updated web app which allows you to watch TV over 3G using the iPhone's built-in MobileSafari browser. The ...

HTC, the company that has supposedly been hard at work manufacturing the Google phone apparently has a date for shipping the finished product. According to the handsets component makers, the official ship date will be the end of 2007, and could reach as high as one million units for the first run. Unfortunately the handset will not have GPS functionality; it will support 3G and EDGE platforms. ...
