Firefox 4 for Mac: faster, more customizable and still free (TUAW.com)

Mar 23rd 2011 9:43AM Man, i am so disappointed. This new update broke way too many crucial sites. Its a sad day but I must say goodbye to firefox...Im using Opera to fill the void, but hopefully Firefox can upgrade their Gecko rendering engine to fix the issue with ColdFusion sites.

Flash plugin absence on MacBook Air was deliberate, says Apple (TUAW.com)

Oct 22nd 2010 5:05PM Not sure this is a bad thing. One of my non techie friends has a mac and is still running flash 8...as long as the web pages have a link showing how to install it, this is a good thing. Although safari should have the "your flash is out of date" warning too.

OpenDNS FamilyShield makes it easier to block porn from your kids' computers (Download Squad)

Jun 23rd 2010 4:33PM @Owen V: I havent tried this yet, but my guess is that when you reach a banned sight you get thrown to a page announcing that you are being blocked by opendns. A simple google search would explain what openDns is unfortunately. They really need to come up with a way for parents to completely block access to their own personal tcp/ip settings for this to be even better.

Jun 23rd 2010 4:31PM Thats what I was wondering too. I think determined kids could figure out how to change your own personal DNS in windows and such. And most parents are not smart enough to know how to lock that section down...

Google enables Binging background images (Engadget)

Jun 10th 2010 1:28PM Ok seriously, whoever sad that google stole this from Bing NEEDS TO GET THEIR FACTS STRAIGHT!!! Ask.com has been doing this background thing long before bing was even thought up. If anything google's background resembles more ask than bing.

Apple posts a new HTML5 demo page -- for Safari only (Download Squad)

Jun 4th 2010 6:48PM Very good thinking. I mean think about it. If you know that your product works 100% with another product, you may say that you only support the other product. Apple knows that these html5 tests work 100% with safari. They may also work with chrome but probably not the full 100%.

Also, from personal experience, people are dumb. They may open these up in firefox or IE, find it not work and say that the test was stupid. But all in all, I dont think that Apple should have done it.
