Private labeled Firefox? Just Flock? (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)
Mar 6th 2006 5:14PM 1. Camino and Epiphany to name two. And I think there are a few more. And yes, I can confirm that Flock is cut from the rib of Firefox. ;)
2. I believe there is. Mozilla is a monolithic framework with Mail and whatnot; Firefox is just the browser component.
3. It's tri-licensed, just like Flock.
BarCampLA was great (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)
Mar 6th 2006 2:24AM Hey Jason -- it was great meeting you and hearing you call bullshit on everything that needed bullshit being called on it. I'd add DRM to your list, I think, but maybe that was implied. ;)
Flock: Social Web Browsing (TUAW.com)
Sep 15th 2005 6:00PM Paul, keep in mind that we're using Firefox 1.5 as our foundation. We're not forking. This means that if it works in Firefox 1.5, it'll work in Flock. Trust me, in my former life I was a web developer -- and I don't need another browser to design against! The good news is that we're basing our browser on an *awesome* product that supports web standards. And in addition, we're building tools that will be smart about XHTML that it outputs -- using microformats and all that tasty web designer goodness. I wouldn't be working on this if that weren't the case. ;)
Flock: the "social web browser" with built-in blogging, Flickr, del.icio.us and more (Download Squad)
Sep 7th 2005 7:43PM Considering that the 0.2 private beta we shipped not too long ago had about two months of work in it suggests that 0.3 is going to be leaps and bounds better than 0.2. I can personally attest to this -- as we'll be smoothing out *a lot* of the early bugginess and making the blogging feature a whole lot slicker. Watch for something new from us in October.
