Windows 7 student upgrade installer not working for many (Engadget)

Oct 23rd 2009 10:52AM This doesn't apply to just a few people. Microsoft made a MAJOR error in this digital river distribution. According to the official upgrade chart you should be able to move from xp/vista 32 bit to 6 64 bit with this upgrade. However, they distributed it with a 64bit executable file. You CANNOT run a 64bit executable on a 32bit OS.. that is the problem. A quick fix would be releasing a bootable ISO. This is an insane oversight.

Jun 10th 2008 1:55PM I've been using the instant message archiving software dexrex developed, more specifically their digsby extension and couldn't be happier. It sits in the quietly background and I can log onto dexrex at anytime, anywhere to mull through old conversations for links, phone numbers, whatever.

If I had a Blackberry I'd be all over the SMS extension. Dexrex is an amazing concept, I can't wait for the Windows Mobile SMS platform.
