Windows 7 hands on - Impressive at every turn (Download Squad)

Nov 1st 2008 8:29PM Wow. 12 comments without a *flood* of troll comments? I am thoroughly amazed! If that isn't a sign that the new windows is being developed in the right areas then what is? :-)

I like what I'm hearing so far, seems like a much better, healthier balance between developing functionality and sparkly user interface.

Online C64 emulator with games - Time Waster (Download Squad)

Feb 13th 2008 7:36AM C'mon people, let's be honest.... The best game ever for the C=64 is undoubtedly Modem Wars. The first action/strategy online game (that I remember) and simply put: Brilliant, yes, the best! Varying terrain, drones and missiles, heavies, grunts, and riders (and spies!), fortification, blitzing, etc.... And all done on...? Was it 4 color or 16? I've forgotten now. Feel like it was 4..... Regardless I easily deem it one of the most innovative games in the history of computers.

Live customer service going the way of the dodo bird (Download Squad)

Oct 3rd 2007 9:52PM Here's the deal:

1. Online customer service seems to always begin with an automated and usually entirely unrelated response. It's not always easy to get a human to answer - just like on the phone.

2. Didn't you just say the TOLL-FREE number is being removed? No offense, but I sure hope people still know how to open up the phone book and find the number of the store before calling.

What's your biggest complaint? (Download Squad)

Jul 1st 2007 8:53PM Nothing personal, but this seems quite pathetic to me. Have we really fallen so low? Cell phones, spam, and spelling (just to name a few after a quick glance at the sight)? If these are the things that are troubling us then we are really fortunate!

But what ever happened to talking with a real flesh and blood friend over a cup of coffee? And what has happened to us that we would enjoy complaining together? There is something wrong on the inside when complaining becomes an event that we enjoy to participate in.

Why not get involved in some kind of a community project to help those less fortunate than you? I'll bet when put into perspective against some of these other lives that you'll find complaints like 'My favorite song is not on iTunes' no longer matter. You'll be a more content person. And you'll be more enjoyable to spend time with.

Again, nothing personal against anyone, just my 5 cents (with inflation, 2 cents just doesn't cut it)

Want a job at Google? Don't forget your GPA (Download Squad)

May 24th 2007 9:05PM Does your GPA really matter much after your first couple of years out of school? I would have to say that it is a poor judge of your skill or ability.

And MORE IMPORTANTLY, is the rumor true? That Google actually hired Santa Claus last year? I've noticed alot of new toys they've been putting out lately.. :)

Keep your bookmark folders synced with Foxmarks (Download Squad)

May 23rd 2007 1:01AM Sharing bookmarks across multiple computers has been FAR too troublesome for quite awhile. I agree - Foxmarks is a MUST have for me.

What makes it stand out as the best? I love it because it scores high on KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. :) I believe technology should serve us, not the other way around.
