Dec 20th 2006 4:14PM I recently bought a 2007 VW Jetta with the el-cheapo iPod jack built in, as opposed to the more expensive "integration" option. The aux jack is in the glove compartment (stupid, stupid, stupid placement), but it's perfectly simple & works much better than any FM transmitter I've ever tried. I can plug my iPod into the aux jack by means of a retractable audio cable. Once driving, I control my music directly on the iPod, which rests in one of the beverage holders right next to my side.

Aside from the painfully idiotic placement of the input jack in the f&@#ing glove compartment (the far right corner, no less!), it's an awesome zero-cost solution to adding pristine iPod music to a car.

Dec 13th 2006 12:29PM Last year, right around this time, iTunes and PayPal had a really sweet deal where if you purchased an iTunes gift cert through the ITMS using PayPal, you got free songs for yourself.

"* Buy a $20 gift certificate—get 10 free songs
* Buy a $50 gift certificate—get 25 free songs"

I bought about $150 worth of gift certs for friends, family (and for myself), and wound up with something like 75 free songs.

I wish they would do something like that again!

Nov 24th 2006 11:34AM First, get the screens off the damn concrete floor! That's painful to look at.

The kids could use the machines for interactive class work, making media presentations instead of dioramas, sweatshop coding for larger corportions, etc.

Or, as Query said, donate them to charity. Tis the season.

Aug 22nd 2006 12:51PM DAVE (9) - Elmer Fudd never farted in a cartoon. It has nothing to do with that. It was his overall stupidity, dumb laughter (haaaaaaa-a-a-a-a-a), stuttering and lack of Rs that made him a unique character. "Be vewy vewy quiet... I'm hunting wabbits!"

Pulling an Elmer Fudd is like pulling a Bambi. Deer in the headlights. You see someone or something so great or so overwhelming, that you sort of turn into an idiot and lose control of your speech and your overall "cool". "Uhhh, 'morning Mr. Jobsssss ha ha, uhhh... haaaaaa. Nice weather, haaa-a-a-aaa."
