Dress up your iGoogle with custom skins (Download Squad)
Jul 20th 2007 9:26AM The warning is because the gadget must be "inlined" meaning embedded on the page rather than in a separate iframe. So if the gadget contains javascript, for example, it could access your google cookies and even change them if it was programmed to do so. I know of no malicious gadgets to date, but it's possible, so Google warns you about it first. You can always look at the XML/JS/CSS of the gadget to verify for yourself that there is nothing bad in there.

Jul 19th 2007 2:21PM Another option for skinning your iGoogle is to add my gadget:

The goal of this gadget is to allow for much more customization of the page and better use of available space, not necessarily just to add pretty pictures behind the iGoogle search bar.
My gadget offers many more options (at the moment) but right now doesn't offer the ability to add/read from a directory of gadgets. I intend to do this as well.
Wanted - New TV Show Ideas (Blog Maverick)
May 15th 2007 4:17PM IDEA: RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
I would love to see a totally new kind of show. A "feel good" show that be great fun to watch, reward good people, and inspire positive actions in people.
It would be called "Random Acts of Kindness".
The setup is simple: It's a "hidden camera" type of show where a situation is created in which someone needs help. It could be a person stuck on the side of the road. An elderly woman needing help in the grocery store. A man with crutches trying to carry a box into a building. Anything that would require a stranger to step up and help out and go "above and beyond" the call of duty (ie, not just opening a door for someone!).
When someone helps out and really goes out of their way to do a good thing, they are eventually rewarded with some cash, maybe like $500 or something. They feel good, they look good to the audience and friends and family, and people feel good watching someone doing something positive.
If the show gets into the public conscious at all, people may actually be more willing to help out, just in case it's the show filming them secretly. And even when it's not, they'll feel good.
It would be totally different and totally positive, and I think people would be drawn to it. Cheap to produce. Easily internationalized. I think it would be fantastic.
