Sep 3rd 2005 7:09PM Personally, I use MSN exclusively for chatting online. Last week, when Google Talk came out, I downloaded it and realized: what's the point. None of my friends use it, and few ever will. Sure, the technology is interesting and VOIP is cool, but what's the use when all my friends are on MSN? I long for the day when the powers that be implement interoperable standards for IM, like e-mail. How rediculous would it sound if I told you that hotmail addresses could only e-mail eachother, and that to e-mail someone on gmail you need to get a gmail address? So why is it completely normal for IM?
