Ask Engadget: Best point and shoot camera that does RAW? (Engadget)

Feb 12th 2010 5:40PM @littlea
not to be a little b1tch here, but.
Expensive Leica D-Lux 4 = cheap Panasonic Lx-3.
one is a really offensive re-bage of a nice affordable camera for those Gucci buying, Coach wearing brand conscious fools out there.
same camera, slightly different body.
kind of like Ford Mondeo = Jaguar X-Type

I have had Lx-1, lx-2, and Lx-3 camera's and they win hands down.
the 1 and 2 had some image noise that could make you insane, but the Leica Dicomar glass, was just to sweet to ignore.

Border security guards kill -- literally kill -- a MacBook (update: video!) (Engadget)

The Problem with that statement is not realizing that a regular mac is a midlevel windows pc to start with....
get with the program jack, INTEL based computers of the same quality cost exactly the same wether from DELL (alienware/XPS), LENOVO, HP (voodoo), APPLE or SONY.
Their quality computers are the same cost the same etc.
don't be a fool... and believe the FUD...

hmm...
you dislike macs?
but like the majority product sold (the laptops).
Then you price the machine at some outrageous price. $2000. which is almost $1000 more then what the thing costs.
original unibody Macbook 13inch : $1100 (what this laptop looks to be)
Macbook Pro 13in: $1200
Macbook Pro 15in: $1700
Macbook Pro 17in: $2499
unless she was walking around with a 17 inch macbook, then you are way off.

There is no context where the guards needed to shoot at the bag, apart from intimidation and provocation.
(If it was for explosives they would have blown it up completely instead in a safe area.)

This is just an example of the type of situation occurs when you go into a police state with no regards to human rights.

Canon EOS 7D impressions for filmmaker wannabes (Engadget)

Nov 17th 2009 4:22PM This is a question that NONE of the reviewers around the web seem to answer.
does this camera, the 5D mark III or any of Nikon's offerings offer SMPTE time code?
when you where talking about synching the video with the audio recorder's sound files, is this the means used to do this?
in which case couldn't you just use a Nagra or other professional audio recording device?

thanks

yea I said it!

How would you change Apple's Nehalem-based Mac Pro? (Engadget)

May 10th 2009 6:59PM I love PC users who say a Mac Pro workstation is expensive compared to a Dell precision workstation.
I love Mac users who say you can't compare a Dell Workstation to a Mac Pro.

Both groups of dumb-asses are so freaking full of it, its unbelievable... A MAC PRO, A DELL PRECISION WORSTATION, an IBM INTELLISTATION, an HP Z WORKSTATION, are invariably of equal quality, power, and PRICE!!!!!

ENOUGH WITH THE BS!

Lying just to prove a point, does not in fact prove your point.
Its all FUD, and its all equally stupid.

In general there is no way for either Apple or Dell to price computers of EQUAL PARTS (not last years Xeons); and with EQUAL components any more or less then each other as they get the parts at almost the same prices no matter what!!
You dumb freaks.

No matter which vendor they still buy Intel inside garbage, which still costs them between $500-$1500 per processor.
These are processors that retail for $1600-$2500, not your Core2Duo or iCore7 prices, which are between $50-$200 for manufacturers. ($150-$999 retail).

LG/SONY/SAMSUNG optical drives, Corsair/Kingston/Samsung memory, Seagate/WD/FUJITSU/Hitachi drives, and it ALL cost them the same!!!

The myth of Apple being more expensive is perpetuated by ignorant people who want to justify their purchase of PeeCees and vise versa the myth of low quality Peecees is perpetuated by Apple fans wanting to explain why they got their machines.

Furthermore the people arguing the most fervently on either side really have usually never laid eyes on or used the object of their hatred.

This constant stupid inane b*llshit storm has been going on and on with the same DUMB logic for the past 30 years of PCs, and it makes me pissed that I have to read this garbage instead of competent and intelligent discussion on topic and about the real usability issues of the tool at hand.

People GROW the HELL UP this discussion was about how you would change the MAC PRO you already OWN, not your idea of the right price for a damn workstation.

Stupid @#$@%#^#$%^ imbeciles.

Unless you actually know what you are talking about and OWN/USE a MAC PRO, just move on and take your 'little' p*nis length discussions elsewhere, you damn "Cadillac Escalade*" driving dumbasses...

* a perfect example of a product that is marketed just to take the money of stupid people like those engaged in this dumb argument.
