There were also Maybachs, yachts, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin, Range Rover, etc... jewels galore, stretch HUMMERs to rent, modified CL600, time-share private jets, very expensive furniture, rare hardwood floors... you name it. Like the Russians, Romanians are into conspicuous consumption.

And the Beetle was just a piece by an art company to flaunt their stuff.

Nov 11th 2007 3:48AM Why is it that in US "premium" is 94? In EU regular is 95, and premium is 100. No wonder car makers only send a handful of exotics over there; must think the fuel will make their cars look bad, or even choke. May also explain why the only solution for HP from US automakers is displacement. Small, sophisticated engines are more particular about what they imbibe. If you want, I can FedEx you some gallons of the good stuff so you can wring out some more ponies.

Did they have THOUSANDS of industrial plants spewing toxins and heavy metals into the air and water back then? Acid rain? You think fish ALWAYS had unhealthy doses of mercury in them?
