iTunes 10. It lives (TUAW.com)
Sep 4th 2010 4:06PM I thought SJ said something about a streamlined, easier to navigate list view that would compress an album listing if you have more than 5 songs or so from the same album.
Do I have to turn that feature on because it doesn't seem to be working.
Hands-on with the underwhelming Apple TV 3.0 update (TUAW.com)
Oct 29th 2009 9:15PM Is there a way to block articles by certain reviewers on TUAW?
If there is, then Steven you are my No. 1. Your reviews are pointless. You would think being snowed-in in Colorado would give you some time to re-read your articles and think about them critically instead of spamming TUAW with this drivel.
This is the 2nd time in as many weeks (see Mr. Sande's brilliant review of the FW800-equipped Drobo in which he posts speed-tests using only the USB 2.0 port) in which we all would have been a lot better off if you had just stuck to IT consulting and left the reviews to someone else.
TUAW Review: OWC Mercury On-The-Go SSD (TUAW.com)
Oct 7th 2009 1:42PM Wow...you aren't kidding about the cowboy hat are you? I, for one, am very glad that the government has decided to stick its "ever-lengthening" nose into internet advertising neƩ product blogging. If you're getting paid by a company (in cash or product) to review something, consumers have the right to know that.
TUAW Review: OWC Mercury On-The-Go SSD (TUAW.com)
Oct 7th 2009 12:01PM I'm sorry, but I just don't understand the point of a review like this done solely over USB. You really should have titled it "OWC Mercury On-The-Go SSD -- Worth it for Macbook Air Users?" since that is the only group of Mac owners for whom a USB-only review is relevant.
I've liked some of your other reviews but this one is just a waste of time.
November sales data: Mac desktops down, laptops strong (TUAW.com)
Dec 16th 2008 11:57PM Yes, the macro environment has definitely impacted my purchasing decisions.
However, all things being equal, I still would probably be typing from a new MacBook right now.
Unfortunately, Apple's decision to pull FireWire from the consumer laptops killed it for me.
Yes, the economy sucks. But stupid decisions by Apple suck more.
Apple opposes Calif. Prop 8, donates $100k to 'No' campaign (TUAW.com)
Oct 24th 2008 4:52PM This is good news for the No on 8 campaign and, being very much against the Proposition, makes me happy.
But I do wonder if "companies" should take public stands on moral issues. It would be one thing if Steve Jobs personally backed the campaign. Another thing for the whole company to be behind an issue like this.
FireWire feedback from readers and Apple (TUAW.com)
Oct 17th 2008 2:50AM I haven't read all the comments here so this may be redundant but if there is a silver lining to this issue it's that the resale value of older MacBooks will be propped up a bit by virtue of their having a feature that a lot of people clearly care about and need.
AT&T saves trees (TUAW.com)
Aug 22nd 2007 10:25PM To Michael Hodges: Yeah, screw the environment and all the trees that are cut down to make that 40-page paper statement. It's much more important that you make the fat cats at AT&T feel the pain of having to pay each month to mail you your bill. Sheesh. What a schmuck.
iPhone gripes (TUAW.com)
Jul 10th 2007 11:01PM Why can't you select blocks of text in Mail? In Safari? In any iPhone application?
Why does a $600 device lack picture messaging?
Why does my music cut out when I am surfing the web (maybe this is just my phone?)
Submit Your iPhone Bugs to Apple (TUAW.com)
Jul 1st 2007 3:08PM All the iPhone is doing is picking up your POP email. If you use Gmail or Yahoo, don't their junk mail filters do most of the work?
In any case, I'm not having junk mail problems.
But is anyone else finding that the accelerometer only works when it feels like it? I'd say mine fails to rotate about 25-30% of the time.
I feel for those unlucky people who had / are having activation problems. When the screen switched from "This process will take 3 minutes" to "More time is required to activate your account", I got the sinking feeling that I had just purchased a $600 AT&T product. I hope that Apple does something to assuage the pissed-off hordes. First month free anyone?
