Apr 18th 2011 4:54PM I could see this as being potentially unfair. Some apps don't really need you to spend a lot of time in them; just pop in and do your thing in a minute or less. Skype, on the other hand, gets its functionality from being on all the time.

Dec 8th 2010 6:09PM Yes it is custom. It's not the exact same ad, or else IGN would have the Pitchfork menu flipping and flopping all over the place. The Pitchfork ad (with the Pitchfork menu elements) only works on the Pitchfork site, and IGN's ad only works on IGN.

That said, that was one of the best web ads I've ever seen in my life.

Reminded you of Half-Life in some way? You mean like a story-driven, first-person experience in which you, the silent protagonist, and your extremely capable female partner are being chased by government forces?
