Gone Too Soon: Sports Night (AOL TV)

Dec 15th 2009 9:42AM as I recall, this was the show that first displayed Sorkin's trademark walk 'n talk steadycam staging.

Glee: Showmance (AOL TV)

Sep 11th 2009 2:19PM the brochure: "So You Want To Throwup"

Saturday Night Live: Tracy Morgan/Kelly Clarkson - VIDEOS (AOL TV)

Mar 16th 2009 3:00PM TM never had a single character or sketch on SNL that I though was any good. Thats why I was quite surprised when his 30 Rock Tracy Jordan character grew on me, and I came to appreciate his performance and his chemistry with Tina F.

Now, back on SNL, it was again lame lame lame. Crappy episode, redeemed only by some good impressions. What an amazing contrast with last week's 5 star Dwayne Johnson episode! The best and worst of the season back to back.

BTW, my wife hushed me up on my 2nd wisecrack about Kelly C's surprising girth.

The Office: Frame Toby (AOL TV)

Nov 24th 2008 10:50AM The frameup plot was outlandish and not "real". But IMO it was well balanced by the microwave mess subplot. I have observed that exact office dispute too many times in my career. Someone leaves a mess in the communal area, and then someone else thinks they can solve the problem with a self righteous anonymous overwritten note that explains things exactly to the perpetrator.

In the end, the same lowly person as ends up cleaning things up.

Mad Men: A Night To Remember - VIDEO (AOL TV)

Sep 19th 2008 1:13PM I suggest this episode is generally about the baggage the women carry around with them and how it wears them down. For Betty, its the happy homelife facade, which finally cracked when Jimmy confronted her with the fact of Don's infidelity. For Peggy, its her secret sin, which the priest came very close to getting her to face up to. I was astonished at the fleeting turmoil that flashed across her face and how she recovered to send the priest on his way with the photocopies.

And for Joan, its her sex object image that she's cultivated her entire career. She can't overcome it even when she demonstrates some real value to the firm with the script review assignment. This sexual baggage is literally chafing at her shoulders.

BTW, where was Jane?

Mad Men: The Gold Violin - VIDEO (AOL TV)

Sep 18th 2008 12:32PM Regarding Jane's gambit with Roger - seems to me that Roger didn't come through at all with his promise. He told her to come on in Monday morning, everything will be taken care of. Obviously it wasn't, and Jane had to think on her feet and play the Roger card herself. So now Jane might have a little interpersonal leverage with Roger.

The Office: Goodbye, Toby (season finale) - VIDEO (AOL TV)

May 29th 2008 12:50PM Michael Scott is all about pathos. And there is no more fitting conclusion to the season than Michael, reflecting in his torment about Jan's pregnancy, now blind to the Holly opportunity, ultimately deciding to hook up with Jan again because thats the best and only parenting opportunity he is ever going to have.

yeah. and everyone knows prisoners dig chicks in track suits.

Yahoo! Music Unlimited shuttered -- customers feel the Rhapsody (Engadget)

Feb 4th 2008 10:20AM I was a happy musicmatch customer until last summer when I was forced to migrate to yahoo's music service. Then in December, I wanted to try yahoo's music-to-go, but they shut down taking new subscriptions. So I signed up for Rhapsody's $15/mo plan. I'm ecstatic about rhapsody - you can get a $20 plays for sure mp3 player and take subscription music with you, and I got a $70 Rhapsody Sansa e260R player and it works very very well. Love the portable Rhapsody channels!! Its like having satellite radio on TIVO at your fingertips!!

30 Rock: Greenzo (AOL TV)

Nov 14th 2007 3:34PM I thought I Al Gore did such good job delivering his lines, I had to look hard to make sure it was him! if you follow my thinking.
