iPhone OS 3.2 rumors: an iPad camera, video calling and more (Download Squad)

Feb 1st 2010 8:31AM Sooner rather than later? I think we've passed sooner...this is the later. Does iPhone qualify as a smartphone without multitasking? Seems that all the others have it.

Adobe plays the porn card against Apple and the iPad (Download Squad)

Jan 31st 2010 1:01PM I think we need a bit more info on what video was maxing your CPU out. HD flash, sure, but you've got some other problem if a standard Youtube or Hulu video was pushing you to 100%. I'm still using an old P4 3Ghz with HT, and it rarely goes above 30% on those standard videos. If it was an HD video, then be reasonable...all HD video requires a pretty hefty CPU if you don't have GPU acceleration.

ATI to release power-hungry external video card? (Engadget)

Jul 29th 2006 5:40AM The only I could see it working in a laptop is if you use an external monitor. Otherwise, you'll need a nice big cable to send the data out, and one to pipe it back in to be displayed.

Latest PS3 pricing and release "news" - early November, for $399 (Engadget)

Apr 26th 2006 9:22PM Sony has their own Blu-ray player, for release in August, listed at $1000. So, in 3 months, they're going to put out the PS3 for $399? What features will that version have missing to drop the price $600? Heck, the Blu-Ray player doesn't even have the Cell processor and graphics abilities.

So, it looks as if their Blu-Ray player is quite the rip-off.

Ask Engadget: Standards-based camcorders (with hard drives) (Engadget)

Mar 10th 2006 3:07AM umm..you're no more likely to run out of space on a HDD camcorder than you are likely to run out of tapes out in the field. Both are a finite resource. They do hold like 15 to 30hrs.
