Feedly - a Firefox start page on steroids (Download Squad)

Jun 20th 2008 3:47PM Hi Peter,

We learnt the first day of the beta that the UI of the feedly welcome wizard was not explicit enough about feedly being integrated with Google and therefore feeds and social connections imported during the welcome would be also added to Google Reader. it surprised and angered a lot of people.

We listened and tried to address this problem on day #2 by:

Changing the UI of the first run page to http://www.flickr.com/photos/65995199@N00/2593284562/sizes/o/ .

Changing the UI of the welcome wizard to http://www.flickr.com/photos/65995199@N00/2595204719/sizes/o/in/photostream/.

And more importantly by providing an option in feedly to undo all its changes.

Good enough?

Entrepreneurial synchronicity defined (or "I love it when a plan comes together") (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Feb 16th 2008 1:26PM There is no doubt that you are an amazing story teller! Very nice post.

Great moments in Dave Winerdom (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Feb 1st 2008 8:48PM A screen saver is not a new idea but the idea of having an open infrastructure for connecting living rooms is.

I also think that the concept of "NOT having a grand plan" but instead exploring and iterating fast was a compliment. Google has institutionalized that with their 20% free time. This is the best way to create entrepreneurial spirit within very large organizations (Apple being the exceptions but unless if you Steve Jobs and innovate through usability and design, iteration is the best way to go).

Isn't that what Mahalo is doing?

Metasearch is illegal.... or is it? (The Jason Calacanis Weblog)

Apr 5th 2007 1:47PM Actually I think that Google has an Custom Search API which allow companies to create cool mashups, including things like metasearch. But you are right that at the end of the day there is no miracle, if you are using/leveraging someone else's content or services you need to be ready in the long run to compensate them.
