Top 10 Apple flops (TUAW.com)
Mar 28th 2007 12:45AM Cyberdog was awesome and way ahead of its time, as was Open Doc on which Cyberdog was based. OD was abandoned as part of the pressure put on by Microsoft at that time to go with their technology.
It's a crying shame.
(And why is there someone writing on an Apple blog that doesn't know about Cyberdog?)
Parallels Workstation 2.1 Beta5 (TUAW.com)
Apr 26th 2006 11:19AM I, too, will be getting Parallels when I get an Intel Mac in my office.
When are people thinking the second rev of the Intel iMac will be out?
How to delete your files when your laptop gets stolen (Download Squad)
Feb 24th 2006 7:47PM A great "shenanigan" to add would be to have the script find every file whose modification date is later than the "date stole" found in the "youve_been_stolen" file and then email, ftp, or otherwise send those files to you for inspection. Might help in discovering the location/identity of the thief.
TUAW Tip: Customize the Finder's toolbar, too (TUAW.com)
Feb 20th 2006 10:32PM This tip is rather incomplete without emphasizing that the real boon to customizing the Finder toolbar is to place apps and droplets that are convenient for dropping documents onto. Keep text editors up there, and most importantly... applescript droplets.
I live by a little script in my Finder toolbar that with one drag and drop sends the file via ftp to my server space. You could put backup scripts, etc. in the toolbar.
For an example of Applescript sample code for instantly ftp'ing a file, like here: http://danshockley.com/codebits.php
