I'll explain it like this... GPUs and system specs are basically locked in. So if they started developing a console in 2010 and it's released even later on in that same year, it's still going to have a 1 year old hardware set by the time it comes out.

So no, consoles are not, and have never been ahead of PCs in hardware just the same as eggs do not lay chickens.

Jun 14th 2011 4:40PM Any GPU included in a console, will always be, and has always been, about a year old. These are not PCs. From start to finish, a console takes more than a "oh hey lets swap this graphics card for a better 1 that came out last week." yeah, doesn't work that way for consoles.
