Follow-up on the "Muslim community offended by Apple's Fifth Avenue NYC Cube" post (TUAW.com)
Oct 17th 2006 2:58AM Well, that's the end of whatever respect I had for you, Laurie. Grow a spine. Make your decisions and stand by them.
Muslim community offended by Apple's Fifth Avenue NYC Cube? (TUAW.com)
Oct 11th 2006 1:46PM At the risk of sounding 'insensitive': Fuck 'em.
Seriously. Who cares? The last time I checked, muslims aren't worried about offending non-muslims, so screw 'em. America is not a muslim country.
If Apple issues an apology I'm dumping every piece of Apple hardware I own on eBay and moving to Windows.
Studios steering clear of iTunes Store for now (TUAW.com)
Oct 10th 2006 11:47PM I can't see the iTS having any more effect on DVD sales than it's had on CD sales. When you buy the film online you're JUST getting the film. No subtitles, no language options (including director commentary) no extras, no nothing. That's fine if you're just itching to see the film, but I think most people are going to prefer having an actual DVD, with all the extras that implies-not to mention the flexibility of being able to play it anywhere, in any DVD player.
This is meaningless speculation on the part of these market analysts. I try not to pay too much attention to them, since they're pretty much worthless. They just talk to hear themselves talk, to justify their six-digit salaries.
Speaking of Microsoft - Office 2004 for Mac updated to 11.3.0 (TUAW.com)
Oct 10th 2006 4:07PM The UB version will arrive with Office 2007, surely. Patience, grasshopper.

Newly resized iTS video content just a bad upsample? (TUAW.com)
Sep 30th 2006 8:44PM I don't care why YOU use safari, Liam. I really don't. It's okay, but I prefer the way Firefox works.
And Colin, what's the point of having content if it's got to compete for your attention with the ads?
Newly resized iTS video content just a bad upsample? (TUAW.com)
Sep 30th 2006 2:37PM Ads? What ads? Seriously, upgrade to Firefox and install AdBlock and FlashBlock and you'll never have to be annoyed by ads again.
I realise that sites like TUAW rely on ad revenues to make money, but until the day they make the ads low-key so they don't compete with the content for my attention, I'll use AdBlock.
iPhone, if it exists, to be Cingular-only through mid-2007 (TUAW.com)
Sep 27th 2006 10:49AM THE. PHONE. DOES. NOT. EXIST.
Can we get a fucking grip here, PLEASE? You folks are making future plans based on RUMOURS!
In any event, there is no reason whatsoever for Apple to enter the cell phone market. Microsoft hasn't. Rather than create a phone and sell it themselves, Apple would be far better off simply providing an OS the way Microsoft does with WinCE (or whatever they're calling it today). License that to Palm and Blackberry and other PDA/Phone manufacturers and they're set. Let someone else worry about the hardware for once.
Greenpeace creates mock Apple homepage (TUAW.com)
Sep 26th 2006 9:19PM Greenpeace are a bunch of ultra-left-wing anti-corporate radicals these days. Who CARES what they say? The only reason they keep doing crap like this is to get attention, and guess what? We're giving it to them! I propose a boycott on further Greenpeace stories. If we stop paying attention to them, they'll go away.
