Laser projector stuck to Wii Remote for faux 360-degree immersion (Joystiq)
May 12th 2010 1:14PM Okay, now I see from his site (eclecti.cc) that he's using the joystick and buttons on the wii remote.
Laser projector stuck to Wii Remote for faux 360-degree immersion (Joystiq)
May 12th 2010 12:42PM So, if he's using the fusion to get orientation - it's a $100 sensor, what is he using the wii controller for? publicity?
At any rate it's a cool use of a micro-projector - anything that can be set up for HMD use could use the same setup.
BaseKit beta give-away and exclusive 'webinar' for Download Squad readers (Download Squad)
Feb 12th 2010 12:40PM Oops! I guess I missed that part. I take it back, then, I don't want want it if I have to comment on facebook, since that would require using my real name!
BaseKit beta give-away and exclusive 'webinar' for Download Squad readers (Download Squad)
Feb 12th 2010 10:59AM Still have the beta keys? I'll try it out, if you do. Also, I retweeted to my 7 followers (at least 5 of which I suspect are spammers), so there should be a flood of requests coming in now!
Engadget's recession antidote: win an HP TouchSmart IQ527! (Engadget)
Jul 30th 2009 4:50PM I would like to win this thing. Not sure where I would put it... either ebay or craigslist.
I kid, I kid. I would keep it.

Study: 41% of all PC software installed is pirated (Download Squad)
May 12th 2009 2:24PM Thanks for at least mentioning there are alternatives. I've gotten by with the motto - "If I can't afford it, then I don't need it." Some tools I'll buy (or my work buys for me), and anything else I can get by with the OSS versions. I do appreciate those companies that have decent trial versions, or homebrew/hobbyist versions (like SoftImage's ModTool or Microsoft's Express line), and would be more inclined to use their full products.
The Office: Business Trip (AOL TV)
Nov 14th 2008 11:37AM So they were exporting from Xpress to Flash for publishing online, now they're exporting to PDFs. No conflict, except I can't imagine either being difficult enough to cause Pam to fail.
Psych: The Ghost In You (season premiere) (AOL TV)
Jul 21st 2008 11:07AM I was really disappointed in the way this ended - with Shawn being a liar and a blackmailer! The whole point of Psych was that he had to pretend to be a psychic because his observational abilities are too good to believe. Now, he's abusing his reputation as a psychic to commit his own crimes. What? For a "good guy" to go this far to get his way, I think goes past his normal bending of the rules.
Analyst: Don't expect a PS3 price cut this year (Joystiq)
May 15th 2008 10:41AM The 40 GB PS3 shows up in my personalized "Quick Picks" at the bottom of Amazon gold box like 3 times a week, for $379. If we ever get another HDTV, I'd probably consider it.
