7,500-mile oil change becoming new standard (Autoblog)

Dec 3rd 2007 3:54PM This sounds nasty. I feel for you americans. My Skoda Octavia TDi (2001) calls for service every 30-50.000 kilometers (18.441 to 31.068 miles) depending on how nice I drive.

Since I commute about 62 miles a day, most miles are slow and steady, and normally the service indicator goes off at about 30.000 miles. Since the Skoda shares engines with VW Passat, Jetta and Golf, this should be the same over there. -Or what

Ford officially extends oil change interval to 7,500 miles (Autoblog)

Mar 22nd 2007 11:18AM Finally something the europeans are ahead on. Service intervals. The VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda family of diesels require a service for every 30-50.000 kilometers, depending on the way you treat the engine (high revs / cold engine).

My 2001 Skoda Diesel signals a service and an oil change every 45-48.000 kilometers, because I'm easy on the throttle, and never go over 2000 rpm before the engine is warm.

The car has now driven 230.000 Kilometers (143.000 miles).

Cheers

Detroit Auto Show: Video of the Smart ForTwo parking demonstration (Autoblog Green)

Jan 10th 2007 1:19AM #1 Well, actually they do park head in, in italy. The same thing goes for the Fiat 500, and they've done this for many yars. It looks odd, but it's very practical.

Jay Leno cracks corn jokes but his jet-powered sports car runs on biodiesel (Autoblog Green)

Oct 31st 2006 11:49AM Hi.

I could be wrong, but besides a few alterations with the grille, the headlamps and som in the back end, this car looks a lot like the koenigsegg CCX (http://www.koenigsegg.com/. The roofline and the side windows, are simply equal.

Quote: "The stunning design is a collaboration between Leno and the GM Advanced Design Studio."

No way. I just don't buy it. What do you guys think ?

May 26th 2006 2:28AM Am I the only one who can't hear any V10 engine. It sounds like a 4 cylinder engine to me.

Even when the driver was to overtake the camera-car, the engine sounded awful..
