RocketDock-a Mac Dock clone for Windows (Download Squad)

Aug 20th 2006 1:55PM RocketDock is just fantastic! I've been using it for months and I just love it. And the guys behind it, Skunkie and PolyVector are very cool. They always respond to questions in their forumgs and accept all sorts of suggestions, while keeping in mind that they want to keep the program simple and don't want it to become a kitchen-sink-memory-hog.

They also make another program which I like even more. It is called UberIcon (http://www.punksoftware.com/ubericon) which is pure eye candy but really awesome. It makes cool effects when you double click on any icon in your desktop or in windows explorer or in RocketDock itself. It is worth a try. If you are into "eye candy" you'll love it!

Colibri Type Ahead - Today's Free File (Download Squad)

Jan 26th 2006 12:53PM You should also check "Find & Run Robot" (yes, I know, the name sucks ;-)

I've tried all freeware (and shareware) application launchers and while I like Colibri (it looks real cool "Find & Run Robot" (FRR) is the best launcher I've used (and the only one that is still installed on my machine). It is _very_ customizable, from its looks (you can select among many cool skins) to the folders that it searches to the types of files that you want it to find and so much more.

Give it a try: http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/findrun/index.html

Don't
be put off by the picture in their website. That picture uses the default (windows) skin, which is ugly. There are many more which are much better.

Cheers,

Angel

AutoHotKey - Take Control of Your Keyboard (Download Squad)

Aug 22nd 2005 12:59PM If you like AutoHotKey, you will like even more AutoIt v3 (www.autoitscript.com), which is the free tool in which AutoHotKey was originally based. The newest version is much easier to use and by far more powerful than AutoHotKey. The AutoIt syntax is like BASIC, it lets you control any program and it let's you create very easily your own GUIs. For some reason AutoHotKey is getting a lot of press latelly, but they seem to ignore that AutoHotKey copied the AutoIt GPLd code, give very little credit to the AutoIt authors and then it did not keep up with the new features that have been added to AutoIT it the past year. I've tried both, and AutoIT v.3 is so much better. Do yourself a favor and check their web page (www.autoitscript.com). Their forums are extremelly helpful. Cheers, Angel
