Commodore debuts horrendously overpriced XX and GX PCs (Engadget)

Apr 24th 2007 12:40PM How quiet are these? They have some sort of custom water-cooling but they don't mention noise levels anywhere.

I love the skin styled after the old-style C64 (not enough to drop 5k on it, but still).

A battery for gamers? Puh-leeze (Joystiq)

Oct 11th 2006 9:28AM I'm not a fan of built in rechargable batteries - I much prefer a built-in charger for rechargable NiCds or NiMHs. That way you can swap them out for another pair when they get past the thousand cycle mark. Look at all the annoyed iPod owners having to send their iPods in for a refurbish once the built in battery gives up.

Office 12 Beta 1 coming soon (Download Squad)

Nov 15th 2005 7:16AM The minimum requirements for the beta are 256 MB of RAM and a 512 MHz CPU. Why do you still have just 256 MB of RAM? And who ever had a 512 Mhz CPU?

Aug 19th 2005 7:39AM People use Photoshop for image resizing because their resizing algorithms are the best in the business. One way of comparing this is to create a blank image, then draw a series of evenly spaced vertical and horizontal lines down and across the image (forming lots of squares - the more lines, the better). Then resize the image. Many resizing algorithms will simply drop individual lines. Photoshop generally doesn't, especially if you play with the options to get the best quality transformation.
