ASUS rolls out four new VH-series 16:9 LCD monitors (Engadget)
Dec 12th 2008 3:03PM I'm curious about the quality. All the Asus monitors I've owned are poor at best. If you want a really cheap monitor, I guess they can get you in the door.

Google Picasa updates and moves out of beta (Download Squad)
Sep 15th 2006 12:26AM I did exactly the same thing as fincan - I can't find a non-beta version of picasaweb... and it took me a while to find a link to the picasaweb download. Had a small heart-attack.
I love Picasa though. Hopefully I can find this non-beta version of Picasaweb.
How to enable multi-user mode for XP's Remote Desktop (Download Squad)
Apr 27th 2006 10:41AM I went to this tutorial a few days ago, and opted to try Sala Source http://sala.pri.ee/terminal-server-patch/ from a suggestion in the comments rather that follow the hack.
Sala source is working great (for 3 days so far), I've upped the RAM on my machine and now two of us are sharing a workstation.
This is a great find - whether you go through the process described in the article or you use something like Sala Source. It's an absolute shame that this is disabled on Windows XP Pro - and a really great find that we can re-enable true "workstation" functionality.
Some small obstacles I had to overcome were enabling fast user switching (Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users log on or off > Check "Use the welcome screen" and "Use fast user switching".
The final tiny obstacle is that I always log in using my Administrator account, and when you enable the welcome screen (necessary to enable fast user switching) you don't have the option to log on as administrator. To get the Administrator login, just type ctrl-alt-delete twice and you can log in as Administrator if you need to.
Ten video sharing services compared (DV Guru)
Apr 11th 2006 12:23PM http://whirrl.com came around a while ago but hasn't seen a lot of traffic in the US. China and Europe have both been visiting a lot, though.
You can upload videos, record direct from your webcam, post videos on your site, etc. It has several tiers, but allows for a lot of video to be uploaded. You can't edit online, but if you just want a place to dump video easily it does the trick.
Disclosure, I helped build http://www.whirrl.com and this is partially a plug, although the site is well within the context of the original post.
Mod of the Day: Alienware Desktop Skins (Download Squad)
Aug 18th 2005 11:59AM I installed this last night and, combined with Konfabulator, it is beautiful and very slick. Nice mod! I'm using the darkstar theme now, but the AlienGUISE app includes 2 other Alienware themes (that I don't see mentioned on their page) that look pretty slick as well.
