Nokia Windows Phone will not support Qt, Symbian developers left high and dry (Download Squad)

Feb 11th 2011 10:00AM Well fuck.

I wonder how Qt on Android is coming along.

Steam Deals Day Four: Prince of Persia, Lucidity, Guild Wars marked down (Joystiq)

Nov 29th 2009 4:17PM This is, like, The Steam Day of Cult Classics. EVE, World of Goo, Trackmania... all really cool stuff that a lot of people somehow don't know about.

Also, ALL THREE ORIGINAL PRINCE OF PERSIA GAMES ARE 50% OFF ON STEAM RIGHT NOW! They didn't even announce it, and everybody seems to be missing it.

Oct 22nd 2009 11:09AM Ouch. Somehow I missed that gem from Apple. Wow, when you look at it from that perspective this isn't so bad...

Oct 22nd 2009 10:37AM So it might not be just a branding exercise, but outright advertising. Lovely.

Oct 22nd 2009 10:11AM Jesus, even their themes are corporate branding exercises. I'm gonna be sick.

Wolfram Alpha for iPhone packs big features and a big $50 pricetag (Download Squad)

Oct 19th 2009 10:10AM Yes, but this way you get to use your iPhone as an orders-of-magnitude more powerful replacement for your calculator, which makes Alpha instantly far more useful. Google works best on the desktop since you're using it to surf anyway, but Alpha is a pretty self-contained service, and as such fits on a mobile platform better.

Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala icon theme available for download (Download Squad)

Oct 4th 2009 8:58AM Hell yes! It's about time Ubuntu icons got updated. Not that anything was wrong with the old ones, but the fresh graphics will be very welcome. Also SVG icons are the best thing since sliced bread - how no one thought of that sooner is beyond me. Now if only all the software in the Linux ecosystem got the memo and started using them...

Forza Motorsport 3 Demo now available for download on Xbox Live (Download Squad)

Sep 24th 2009 9:43AM This is not a Download Squad article. This is a Gamespot article.

Moblin netbooks are coming - can Linux based netbooks find a market? (Download Squad)

Sep 23rd 2009 6:17AM People wanting netbooks to replace their desktop computers is the whole problem! Remember all those reports about customers unhappy with their netbooks? Apparently the average buyer doesn't get the concept of the netbook, and thinks he's getting a regular laptop, just smaller and cheaper. That's why they all want WinXP on their computers, even though a specialized system would be better - they're trying to make a laptop out of it.

Moblin netbooks would be great, if people knew what to do with them.

Don't care if your friends think you're a douche? Throw a party, get Windows 7 free! (Download Squad)

Sep 3rd 2009 9:34AM This idea is so ridiculous, it must have come directly from Ballmer.
