Fav.or.it: RSS reader that lets you see and submit comments (Download Squad)

Aug 20th 2007 12:16PM I am pretty sure RSSBandit has this feature, and since I have not used that reader in at least a year, I am guessing it has had it for quite a while.

----------
From http://www.rssbandit.org/ow.asp?FeatureList:

-Ability to post comments to weblogs that support the CommentAPI such as any weblog based on dasBlog or .TEXT

-Ability to view comments posted in response to news items on sites that support the wfw:commentRss element such as any weblog based on dasBlog or .TEXT. (SCREENSHOT)
--------

Guess it is limited to sites that support the proper APIs. If the blog post has the wfw:commentRss ewlement RSS Bandit will go and get the comments from that feed and display the items from it as a thread under the blog post.

Plan a trip and a detour with Google Maps (Download Squad)

Jun 29th 2007 12:06PM one less reason for offline mapping apps. I always kept Microsoft Street and Trips on my computer for this reason. I seem to always like to change the directions to make them a little easier, or round cities a little different way. If you can now do this online I guess I won't need the offline app anymore...

Installing BlogEngine.net (Download Squad)

Jun 14th 2007 12:43PM Wolfman-K,

Thanks for your comment. I never looked at Wordpress because I live in .NET for work and play, and my web hosting is .NET server. If I had the time and money I would have a PHP server for learning, but I don't have either, so I never checked out Wordpress.

As for performance, as I said I have not had time yet to fully test it after installation. As is I have only three posts up there in the time since I set it up. If / When I have time to do some stress tests on it, I will try posting a followup

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Bloglines Mobile: Now with Skweezer (Download Squad)

Sep 22nd 2006 2:07PM I have been using the NewsGator Mobile software on my Motorola Q for a while and that software has an option to "Squeeze web pages" and then you can choose either "Skweezer" or "Google". Guess they are trying to keep up with NewsGator.

Make Your Motorola Q Look Like A Mac (Download Squad)

Aug 12th 2006 11:10PM You can just unzip the file, and then follow the directions in the text file that was extracted. The post mentions what the step in the text file are. All you need to do is open ActiveSync and browse to the device Using the "Explore" button in ActiveSync. Then you navigate to the Application DataHome directory, and drop the XML and JPG file into it and then go into the settings screens on the Q and select that Home Screen.

Why Don't You Have a Yahoo! ID? (Download Squad)

Aug 7th 2006 3:37PM I have had my Yahoo ID since 9/6/1996 according to my profile page. I used to use it as my primary email address so if I changed ISP I would not have to worry about email changing. I stopped using yahoo as my main mail when I got my domain name which will (and has) go with me through ISP changes.

RSS Readers: SOUND OFF! (Download Squad)

Jul 21st 2006 11:51AM I used to use the free RSSBandit for years but it was using too much memory to have running while programming. Now I BOUGHT and use FeedDemon and sometimes the online NewsGator version when away form my desk, but since my feeds are sycnhed up it is no problem switching between the two.
