Ann Arbor, Mich Apple Store opens Saturday (TUAW.com)
Jul 17th 2007 11:26PM I'll be there. I can literally walk to this store which is great. As long as it isn't raining its probably what I'll do Saturday. The location couldn't be better for me.
Random acts of Mac kindness (TUAW.com)
Jun 19th 2007 3:07PM I was at CompUSA and every Mac they had their was booted into Windows....ugg. I took it upon myself to reboot every system there back into OS X before leaving
I end up spending a good portion of my free time answering peoples questions and helping them out on different websites as well
Access to great food means poor nutrition? (That's Fit)
May 12th 2007 10:18AM I couldn't agree more. I try to buy healthy stuff when at the store, but its so hard to find amongst all the garbage that I've all but given up.
I suppose I could opt to go all the way across town and pay double the price at Whole Foods or something, but why should that be the only option
Do you want to rent your music? (TUAW.com)
Apr 3rd 2007 7:35PM I would like it if for no other reason then back issue of backup. As music libraries grow they become harder and harder to backup. Drive space becomes an issue as well, especially for laptop users with large libraries...add video to the mix and it gets even worse
I signed up for Rhapsody so I have music to listen to while at work. I'd like to listen to it at home as well, but the site always crashes Safari and Firefox (yet it doesn't crash the Windows version of Firefox at work.....grrr)
However, if some service were made available from iTunes it would have to be all or nothing. On Rhapsody's page some albums only have 1 track you can play, soundtracks are really bad for that. The songs are still on the site, you just can play them easily in that grouping....it drives me up the wall and almost caused me to cancel the service.
I would pay $10-$15 for the service if it was there and drop Rhapsody immediately. This is assuming of course that I can play the tracks on my Mac as well as load up my iPods
What ToDo: GTD, Yet Again (TUAW.com)
Feb 16th 2007 10:57AM I'm just using OmniOutliner that came with my MacBook Pro. I don't want to pay for OO Pro when OmniFocus is right around the corner
Native KDE Applications Coming for OS X (TUAW.com)
Jan 16th 2007 8:34AM I'm not sure why you seem so down on this idea. I don't see how more free software for OS X is anything but good. The more software and developers working on great applications for OS X the better
I am mostly a Gnome user when in Linux, but I will surely use a lot of the KDE apps once they go OS X native.
I think a lot of people coming from Windows will like the idea of Konqueror as a Finder alternative as it is more like Windows Explorer, something they already know well
Does the iPhone shaft the blind? (TUAW.com)
Jan 10th 2007 3:49PM Not everything can be made for universal access and for the blind. It sucks but its true. Should we hold back 90% of the population from something really great just so a few blind people don't feel bad.
Don't take this the wrong way, I have nothing against the blind or anyone with a disability, but there are just certain things you can't do when you're blind. Should all the sighted people then stop doing those things that the blind people can not do just out of sympathy?
A blind person can't play Wii Sports with me, they can't enter an appointment for me on my Palm Pilot, they can't drive me to the store. Should video games, all touch screen devices, and cars be stopped from being sold to everyone that uses them?
The iPhone is more then a phone, its a PDA as well and by nature touch screen PDAs which have been around for years are not going to be friendly for the blind. That is no reason to deprive the rest of the people or place a hardship on Apple just because they happen to come out with a new version of a product that people actually want
Can't touch this (TUAW.com)
Jan 10th 2007 3:25AM I think you need to watch the keynote again
Side buttons are volume and silent button
top is a headphone jack and a sleep/wake button...sim card I think is under the back cover
speaker and mic are on the bottom on either side of the dock connector
