Sprint EVO 4G celebrates its 'first' commercial (Engadget)

Jun 2nd 2010 10:59PM @Fragmented Verizon is the #1 network in the U.S. Best Buy sold out of the first shipment of Evos on May 21st. I think a few people will be buying this phone.

Motorola Shadow glimpsed in the wild: 4.1-inch screen, 8MP camera, OMAP3630 processor? (Engadget)

May 26th 2010 1:01AM @prodigypv They're getting more every day. What is android up to now? like 40,000? I think that's acceptable, if they're the right 40,000... I don't know about you, but I don't even have 20,000 apps installed on my phone. Lol.

More would be nice, of course, but I don't think 20 apps that do the same thing in every category, 18 of which suck, is really a necessity for a platform to be competitive. I think a few that work well are just as good, perhaps even preferable.

Motorola Shadow glimpsed in the wild: 4.1-inch screen, 8MP camera, OMAP3630 processor? (Engadget)

May 25th 2010 11:25PM @prodigypv It still isn't quite up to par with the Evo on specs: front facing camera, 4G including simultaneous voice and data, Sense (may or not be a benefit depending on your personal preference), larger screen (again, some may consider a smaller device a benefit). Still, if you prefer Verizon, this phone will still be epic. I'm really glad to see so many cutting edge phones that are genuine competitors to the iPhone.

Palm App catalog hits 1,000 apps... okay, 946 (Engadget)

Dec 31st 2009 8:44PM @Wesley
The Pre already has a very good camera with a flash.

Sprint Palm Pixi unboxed on video (Engadget)

Nov 9th 2009 8:53AM Palm was first. They debuted WebOS with Facebook integration. It was a feature they showed almost a year ago when they announced WebOS. The Palm Pre has had Facebook integration since launch in June. The new version just has improved Facebook integration, showing status updates in the individual contact cards. Everyone else copied it from Palm.

First GSM Palm Pre now on sale in Germany, with new Euro-specific apps in tow (Engadget)

Oct 13th 2009 6:43AM The German Pre has the German specific QWERTZ keyboard instead of a QWERTY. All the letters are there, they're just in different spots. That would be irritating.

Palm webOS 1.2.1 fixes iTunes sync... again (TUAW.com)

Oct 4th 2009 2:32AM You mean, like this?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdVzboF2E2Q
Salling Media Sync and Double Twist have been available for the Pre since day one. Both work great.

Palm's App Catalog is swamped with submissions, bursting with flavor (Engadget)

Sep 23rd 2009 3:16PM If they get 10k app submissions a day, I assume they'll be making quite a nifty profit & could hire enough new staff to handle it and/or raise some more money to pay for the increased staff. Especially with their stock at a 52 week high.

Apple, Palm hear privately from USB-IF on iTunes spat, involvement unlikely (update: the Forum's not pleased) (Engadget)

Sep 22nd 2009 6:58PM You have it backwards. It was Palm that filed the complaint, not Apple.

Pre ad is to iPhone ad as dude is to lady in Aerosmith song of the same name (TUAW.com)

Aug 21st 2009 9:57PM Than how is it a great point? Either it's a rip off or a parody. "Gee, Those SNL skits about Sarah Palin are great! Tina Fey looks just like Sarah Palin! Still, I can't help feeling Tina Fey is just ripping off Sarah Palin..."
