Sep 4th 2009 2:57PM This video is somewhat wrong. Mainly because SMS runs off of the SS7 control channel. MMS messaging is basically an extended version of SMS where the multimedia payload is encapsulated into a SMS message.

So that "smart phones" logic is thrown out the window since it actually doesn't pertain to how cellular works. The rest of the information is good information on how basic cellular works, but it doesn't answer the question at hand.

And in case there's expertise issues, I've worked in wireless telecom for over a decade.

Jan 2nd 2009 10:45PM Personally, would love to see better battery usage. That's the one thing that Sony's chipsets seem to always be doing... sucking up power like mad. Not that it's worse or anything, but more time on the PSP would be great. I suppose a hidden WiMax chipset would be pretty neat although somehow I doubt it would come to be.
