Size matters: why the iPhone has a 3.5-inch screen (TUAW.com)

Oct 10th 2011 3:29PM Maybe the writer just has small hands. Saying a smaller screen size is better and Apple gets it right because his hands are small is pretty subjective. I find the 4.3" screen on my Bionic to be reachable in all corners by my thumb, hence bigger is better.

Swype psyched to be on Droid X, fifty total devices by the end of 2010 (Engadget)

Jun 24th 2010 4:46PM @Tegdagne Swyping on the Droid has no effect on typing on a real keyboard. They are completely different muscle reactions and I don't think they interfere with each other at all.

Jun 24th 2010 4:41PM @omgitswes I feel the same way about the iPad (and iPhone and iPod). However, in the case of swype, it does live up to the hype.

Jun 24th 2010 4:38PM @MaltedVomit Don't comment about things you've never used. Swype is not as fast as a PC keyboard where you can use all your fingers, but it is faster than 2 thumbs, and you only need 1 finger (or thumb)

And, it's significantly better than Shapewriter too. For the day that my beta expired before I got into the open beta, it really sucked trying to use Shapewriter.

I've completely relegated the use of my Droid's keyboard to giving my phone extra mass.

How to say where is the bathroom in 34 languages at once (Download Squad)

Dec 15th 2008 4:05PM Same comment as Nate. The headline should read "how to WRITE - where is the bathroom in 34 languages at the same time"

It's on: HD radio gets FCC blessing (Engadget)

Mar 23rd 2007 4:42PM I've got HD radio in the Boston area. All the second band channels are commercial free. And they mostly play very different stuff than their main channel. And every major station has a second channel.

I have XM in a different car. The sound quality is noticeably worse. And only 4-5 channels appeal to me anyway.

I'm very satisfied with HD.

Directed Electronics intros HD Radio add-on for car stereos (Engadget)

Feb 13th 2007 2:09PM XM has already started putting commercials on some channels.
And NOONE ought to be bragging about the sound quality of XM.

This thing though, is stupid if you're just going through an FM modulator.

I have a real HD receiver and I think the sound is MUCH better than FM. To those that say it isn't, have you tried it?

And, most of the second channels are commercial free and play different playlists than the main channels. It's definitely worth the $179 I paid for mine, not counting that it also got me an MP3 disc player.

But I live near Boston where we've got a lot of HD channels - every big station but 98.5 is running HD and HD2.
