Review: Dollhouse - The Attic (AOL TV)
Dec 19th 2009 11:01AM I know it's been said before but it needs to be repeated: if the first season would have been this good, it might not being ending so soon. This was amazing. And now it's reminding me of Fringe with massive companies being started by a pair that get pushed to opposite ends of humanity. Great cinematography in this episode. I can't wait for more.
Best Buy + CinemaNow = sitting in a tree (Download Squad)
Nov 3rd 2009 1:47PM The problem I see is that because consumers are so used to getting junk software along with their PC's, they may be inclined to ignore anything Best Buy adds.
Firefox 3.5 exceeds 7 million downloads, portable, Ubuntu versions available (Download Squad)
Jul 2nd 2009 12:21PM "In the few days since Firefox 3.5 was officially unleashed on the public, it's been downloaded well over 7 million times according to Mozilla's real-time download tracker. That's nowhere near the estimated 8 million downloads achieved in the first 24 hours after Firefox 3.0 launched, but it's still pretty good."
Since when is 7 million nowhere near 8 million? Would 7.75 million be anywhere near 8 million? What about 7.9 million?
Macs still cheaper when you look at TCO (TUAW.com)
Mar 13th 2009 2:41PM "When you figure in ease of use, less malware/viruses/spyware/etc. than on Windows, lower IT costs, ease of use, bundled software and more, Macs are, in the long run, a better buy."
Well Ease of use is subjective. If you are learned computing on Windows, going to a OSX box is sometimes more difficult.
Less malware/viruses/spyware/etc. I definately agree with this to an extent. There is less. But this isn't necessarily a TOC issue as there are plenty of free options to avoid that are very minimal in hassel ("set it and forget it").
Lower IT cost....not sure what that means exactly. tech support? you can get support for either platform for cheaper than Apple offers it.
Better software/better buy. This is, again, subjective. I have an iMac, and I'm pretty happy with iLife. But iTunes is free on Windows, as are iPhoto and iMovie replacements (iPhoto replacements are less flashy but more powerful imo and iMovie replacements aren't as good). Garage Band is very nice, haven't seen anything as simple on Windows. But all this assumes those are needs. If they have no utility, they wouldn't factor into your personal TOC.
30 Rock: Goodbye, My Friend (AOL TV)
Mar 6th 2009 7:28AM Can someone explain what John Lithgo jokes were about? I feel like I've missed the big picture with this episode.
Heroes: Exposed (AOL TV)
Mar 3rd 2009 9:20PM Lame episode imo. Peter never learns not to trust people. His dad, Nathan, Nathan again. Set up time and again.
But regarding the kid with Clair in the pool...I thought he was trying to prevent too many air bubbles from floating up by kissing her, not give her air. But that was just my take.
Dollhouse: Target (AOL TV)
Feb 21st 2009 10:55AM I agree that this episode was better. It's still not great in my opinion. I really dislike Topher's character. Perhaps it's the actor?
I also wish we could see more of the other dolls' experiences.
And what was with the cinematography/effects in this episode? That POV shot of her dizziness was so amateurish.

Feb 11th 2009 10:52AM They will replace you either way Tarnation, don't be fooled into thinking that they keep people around to be nice.
Fringe: The Transformation (AOL TV)
Feb 5th 2009 6:56AM I have this feeling the sister knows more than she's saying. Perhaps the sister is involved some how.
For those who complain about people who watch the show and complain, realize that if the show was truly terrible, they probably wouldn't watch. But when the show is almost good but the plot is sloppy, it frustrates them. Hell after The Wire (imo probably one of the most well thought non-sloppy shows ever made), I was disappointed to see Lance Reddick play such a seemingly flat character. And even if he turned out to be a bad guy, that adds complexity but not depth. And all the characters, perhaps with exception to Walter, are under developed.
Video: Windows 7 promises faster boots and up to 15% better battery life (Engadget)
Nov 6th 2008 8:34AM I wish they would show boot times between XP and Win7. Vista is slower than XP on my boxes.
