Aviary - web image editing suite test flight (Download Squad)

Feb 14th 2008 4:52PM Hmmm - "Aviary is in closed beta, but the first 100 Download Squad readers will get to try it out. Just click on Aviary at the top of the post." Maybe you meant to make that a special link? Nothing special about just sending people to the homepage...

Find out what's going on above your fold (Download Squad)

Jul 27th 2007 6:36AM Or, you should totally forget about it because 'the fold' doesn't matter anymore...

Texas Legislature bans speed cameras, requires warning signs for red light snappers (Engadget)

May 25th 2007 10:56AM If it is illegal to run a red-light, regardless of whether there is a sign - and therefore a camera - then shouldn't you treat all red-lights as though they are equipped with cameras?

Or do we now only think twice about doing something illegal when there is a higher chance we'll get caught?

Texas Legislature bans speed cameras, requires warning signs for red light snappers (Engadget)

May 25th 2007 7:37AM So tell me, what is the reasoning behind banning speed cameras? Is speeding still illegal? And the red-light cameras? Does this mean it is legal to run a red-light as long as there is no sign?

Chocolate Pudding Cake (Slashfood)

Feb 9th 2007 4:56AM This is an old favourite of ours, known as Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding in NZ, possibly elsewhere too...

Okoro Media Systems adds Core 2 Extreme to OMS-GX300 HTPC (Engadget)

Jan 31st 2007 5:15AM Can someone please explain to me the purpose of having a secondary screen on the front of a pc like this?

A HTPC is supposed to be controlled by a remote, with a 10' UI right?

Just seems crazy to take that 10' and put it on a 7" display. You're hardly going to operate it by looking at the small screen are you? If you set it up with some other UI, wouldn't everything have to be so big on it that it then ceases to become useful?

Striking a chord: Panasonic and Fender planning branded car audio system (Autoblog)

Jan 18th 2007 5:04AM Ummm. How are you supposed to play a guitar in a car? Sure, there may be room in your hummer, but in a regular (even regular American) sized car, trying to play in such a cramped space is hardly going to inspire greatness is it?

Belkin's Cable-Free USB Hub finally loosed (Engadget)

Dec 4th 2006 12:40PM At first I thought that is pretty dumb, having a wireless hub that still needs to be plugged into the wall.

But then I realised what it is actually for - your devices that don't move, but are usually plugged into your laptop, ie printers and what-have-you.

With this, you put the dongle in your laptop and you can leave the wired peripherals behind...

ROLLERtoaster (Slashfood)

Nov 30th 2006 11:25AM Wouldn't one end of the toast be cold by the time the other end was cooked?
