Win a Pandaren Monk from WoW Insider (WoW)

Nov 23rd 2010 3:40PM I love the pandaren monk!

The Queue: I had an NPC before it was cool (WoW)

Oct 31st 2010 1:04PM Speaking of heirlooms, I know that the stats on the current heirlooms don't go up past 80, but does the xp gain also stop @ 80 (meaning that heirlooms are useless for 80-85). And if the xp gain doesn't stop @ 80, is it worth the loss of stats to get 10% xp?

Oct 28th 2010 12:09PM I've never had my second screen black out when running full screen.
BUT, what you desire is possible!
There is now a setting called Windowed-Fullscreen (or something similar). If you choose that, it will look like it is running in fullscreen mode, but you can move your mouse out to the second monitor without alt-tabbing out. (speaking of which, before I found the windowed-fullscreen option, I was alt-tabbing out, and I never had the issue of getting DCed after 60 seconds.

Unless you found a WowInsider RSS feed that I haven't, all you get from WowInsider in Google Reader is a portion of the article and you have to click through to the actual web site. Therefore, they get "credit". :)

Major Cataclysm currency changes (WoW)

Sep 14th 2010 12:57PM @ marcus
Actually no, there will NOT be 5 different types of points @ the end of Cata.
Blizzard has said that with each release of a new tier of raiding (i.e. T11 is released w/ Cata, T12 comes along in 2 months, T13, T14, etc), Valor points will be converted to Justice points, and the old tier of raiding will cost Justice rather than Valor. The end result is that there will only be 2 types of PvE points, and 2 types of PvP points. You can buy current tier gear with Valor/Conquest and the previous tier with Justice/Honor.

And if you think about it, calling them points or emblems really doesn't change the fact that it is just a type of currency used to buy gear. There may be more points than emblems, but the base principle is still the same. The only difference between the 2 systems is that the points system now has a cap on how many you can save up, and a cap on how many you can earn in a week.

Caveat: ALWAYS scan downloaded programs with an antivirus scanner.

The Queue: Electronic books? Well, I never! (WoW)

Aug 24th 2010 4:50PM @ Grovinofdarkhour
I don't think he meant the entrance to the instance...
I think he wanted to know where it was in the "real" world. Like you can visit the place where you fight the Lich King in both HoR and ICC.

The Queue: Electronic books? Well, I never! (WoW)

Aug 24th 2010 4:41PM I'm not sure that you answered the inscription question that was asked...

I THINK he was asking: "Is it worth it to do the daily inscription research because all the glyphs I learn now will be available to learn in Cata, or will I have to learn completely new glyphs, making the daily research useless?"

If that is not what he was asking, then consider it MY question for the queue. :D

John Mellencamp is not an iPod fan (TUAW.com)

Aug 23rd 2010 4:32PM Assuming the CD and the iPod were hooked up to the same speakers (and the iPod was set correctly -- same equalizer curve as the stereo), there should be no difference in listening quality (seeing as how both the CD and the file are both 1s and 0s).
The only differences could be:
1. Lossy ripping to an mp3 file. Use a lossless format if you want complete accuracy.
2. Preconceived ideas. There was a test done once where audiophiles couldn't tell the difference between a Monster cable (super over priced audio and video cables), a regular cheap cable, and a *coat hanger* if they didn't know which was being used, but in the same test, when they were actually told which was being used, swore up and down that the Monster was by far the best.

I suggest that he put himself in a blind test situation where the iPod has a lossless format on it. Then, if he can hear the difference, he can complain.

Also, does he complain about radio? The sound quality even from a lossy compression to mp3 is FAR better than anything I've heard on the radio.
