China blocks RSS feeds (Download Squad)
Oct 6th 2007 7:28PM Thanks for the heads up. I can still read the headlines in Google Reader and I thought there was a problem with the links that it opened. At least now I know that it's the government here that wants my good... I hope gladder will offer an update soon for that, good thing I go to Hong Kong often for business.
Microsoft cuts Windows Vista price to $66 in China (Download Squad)
Aug 4th 2007 11:40AM Wow! 66$, that's about 500 RMB, if I'm not mistaken. I might pick one up, if you can use it in English.
And I have seen pirated copies for about 20-50 RMB, which is around 3 to 7$, although I'm sure you can deal it down to a buck if you're really insisting.
I have also seen giant billboards announcing Vista in most cities I visited when it came out. I remember seeing some that were plastered on the side of buildings while my plane was landing in Xiamen and another one next to a huge screen that showed Nike ads in Chengdu!
Secrets of the Tetris Grandmasters (Joystiq)
Jul 4th 2007 12:14PM my favorite spinning technique was the one in The New Tetris for N64. The game itself was amazing too. I spent so much time playing that game. Damn I should have brought my Nintendo to China... I miss that game!
Next-Gen earns enemies with Top-50 game journalists list (Joystiq)
Oct 18th 2006 3:34PM Ok, that sounds better; it actually kinda shows your professionnalism.
Still, without the context, you have to admit that it sounded creepy.
Next-Gen earns enemies with Top-50 game journalists list (Joystiq)
Oct 18th 2006 2:20PM uh, Chris, what sounds creepy is that you bring up something that happened "several months age" and that you remember the nickname of the guy who posted. All that following a two line post which doesn't mention anything about the past.
creeeepy...
Wii preorders in the frozen hostile northland (Joystiq Nintendo)
Oct 5th 2006 2:28PM Actually, as a Canadian, I am VERY offended by the "only half of Canadians live in igloos".
Anyone with decent education would know that no less than 71,47% (as of the 2002 Statistics Canada Census) of Canadians live in igloos.
Check your facts before posting your nonsense!
You're lucky I don't live in the US because I'm sure I could sue you for millions upon millions...
But seriously, I got a preorder from Toys 'R Us back in August, but I don't know what to do with it since I'm leaving the continent for at least 3 years before it comes out. Can you sell a preorder on eBay?
1UP urges us to buy, not steal (Joystiq)
Oct 3rd 2006 4:05PM Why are people even talking about this?
If it is indeed newsworthy, where were the news outlets when Katamari Damacy, Shadow of the Colossus, Burnout, [insert whatever title you can think of. ever], et al were (and still are) available on bitTorrent?
I understand that this is a full month before the release, but as rockintom99 said, they're preaching to the wrong crowd anyways.
Rumor: Gamestop taking pre-orders soon after Friday (Joystiq Nintendo)
Sep 29th 2006 4:44PM Go check your Toys 'R Us if you want to preorder. For 50 bucks, I've had one since August 14th, in Quebec (Canada). And it wasn't the first day of preordering. I don't know if it's available in the US, but I really don't see why not.
And there's no way I'm lining up on the first day... This is probably blasphemy for a fanboy site, but I'll probably wait until Monday night (the 20th) when I come back from work to pick it up.
Poll results: The way you play your games (Joystiq)
Aug 14th 2006 8:04PM I'm sorry to say this, but the percentages are unaccurate.
If I remember correctly, the voters were encouraged to click on any option that applied to them. So when multiple votes were cast by one person, you shouldn't have added the extra votes. The results SHOULD be over 100%.
So the percentages really don't reflect the situation.
'XBLA Wednesdays' looks to keep rolling, Konami leading the charge [update 1] (Joystiq)
Aug 7th 2006 4:40PM So they're starting to release some Coleco games... If they release Mousetrap, or Venture, or even the basebal game with some new upgraded controllers with the infamous wheel, I'm running to the store to get myself a 360!
OK, maybe not the basebal game, but I still miss the spinning wheel.
