Windows Longhorn concept video - does Vista live up to it? (Download Squad)
Nov 7th 2006 11:28AM I am happy with my decision to switch to Linux. I think that about 80-90 percent of the features that were promised back in 2003 have been diverted to Vista+1 or have been canned alltogether. I have tried the RC and it is almost nothing like that video. It is bloated, slow in some cases (depending on setup, hardware, customization), and for the most part offers what XP offers plus an over-done interface that needs work. No thanks, this is a lost Windows Vista sale here. Those who look to me for advice will be sticking to XP until Vista+1 arrives (at least).
Flash Player 9 beta for Linux released (Download Squad)
Oct 19th 2006 8:36PM No major problems so far. Only one hang/crash. The only cosmetic problem I have seen is that javascript roll-overs still are forced behind flash objects. It is not a problem on Windows, just Linux. I reported that bug... at least I think I did. I am not too sure about how their bug reporting is supposed to work.

Yahoo! Photos gets a Firefox upgrade (The Unofficial Yahoo Weblog)
Feb 5th 2006 11:53PM Personally, I hope they drop Yahoo! Photo in the future and replace it with Flickr service. I feel Flickr offers much better features and ease of use. I cannot even remember the last time I used Y! Photos...
How about Firefox support for LaunchCast? I listened to it all the time on my Windows system. I still listen to it at work. I now use Linux with FireFox and am looking for support. Will anyone answer?
IE7 PR2 beta and Yahoo! (The Unofficial Yahoo Weblog)
Feb 5th 2006 11:41PM All of this because: IE 7 FINALLY updates the core of IE. The standards that IE 6 should have had an upgrade too has not come about. Now that this happens with IE 7 many more of you can see that even Yahoo! is not conforming to the standards that should have been followed years ago.
I hope to see Yahoo! with much better coding in the future. Using the standards so that IE7 as well as Firefox, Opera, and a hose of other up-to-date browsers will have greater support.
