Apr 12th 2011 12:27PM Oh man that's a bummer. I have enjoyed this site for a while now and always found it had a nice niche between the other tech sites.Yet another reason for me to boycott AOL/Huffpo
Mar 28th 2011 9:05PM Same thing happened with Google I/O. It sold out in less than 90 minutes this year but a LOT of tickets ended up on eBay for insane amount of $$$. It sucks - genuine developers got locked out by scalpers trying to make a quick buck.
Nov 30th 2010 9:34PM Wow that is terrible. 41 is so young to die of a heart attack. Hope the company takes care of his wife and kid nicely they have the resources to do so.
Oct 21st 2010 1:25PM No Java = no Eclipse or IntelliJ = no development.Guess I will hold off on replacing my Macbook Pro with a newer one until I see what happens. This is pretty game-breaking for me as a developer.
Oct 19th 2010 11:49AM As far as I know Microsoft is/was an early investor in Facebook. I seriously doubt they would let Apple come in and buy it.
Sep 27th 2010 3:19PM This is no surprise Apple has mastered the art of product marketing better than anyone.
Jun 17th 2010 10:24AM While a lot of that stuff is annoying, I really don't like people doing a blanket blocking of advertising. This is the very advertising that keeps the sites we go to free. This is the revenue that puts food on peoples' tables, creates jobs for web developers, artists, writers, IT folks, and funds R&D and innovation at hardware and software companies.Do you think we would have great stuff like Google Voice, Google Maps, Facebook, Yahoo Sports etc etc if they were not bringing in revenue? Do you think Cisco would be making faster and better routers if companies like Microsoft and AOL etc were not spending millions on them?Don't be freeloaders. Seriously. If something is doing harassing pop-ups or browser hijacks it is one thing but to blanket out every major advertising system on the web is a terrible idea.
Jun 7th 2010 10:36PM For all the shit about capitalism love it or hate it this right here is a text book example of capitalism actually working right - competition between these companies is forcing bleeding-edge innovation. The result is that us consumers have amazing array of choices before us with more technology and better pricing.Too bad we don't see this kind of heated competition in other industries.
May 28th 2010 1:09PM Now all Apple has to do is rename iPhone OS. Am I the only one who finds it annoying that their OS for anything not a traditional computer is called iPhone OS or is this just my OCD kicking in?
