Think 1.0 (TUAW.com)
Feb 6th 2007 6:30AM Another app I use, which does a similar thing is Backdrop (http://www.johnhaney.com/backdrop/)
I personally find it most useful when watching WMV videos in QuickTime Player since the free version won't allow full-screen viewing (which still puzzles me.) I'd hardly say apps like this are "killing the platform", just offering a different way of working which may or may not benefit you.
Anyway, if I remember correctly, a "single window mode" was written into early versions of OS X, wasn't it? By the people who built the platform in the first place!
You name the iPhone (TUAW.com)
Dec 7th 2006 9:44AM How about Apple Talk? They already own that name! :-)
TUAW podcast #14 (TUAW.com)
Nov 5th 2006 5:23PM Hi Scott thanks for posting this video. Our family was treated to a 5.5G iPod a few weeks ago (our first) and I absolutely love it, but I'm thinking of treating myself to a new Shuffle too, and this video sounds interesting.
I was wondering though, is this video iPod compatible? David's last video podcast on Quicksilver (again really great) wasn't. Could you possibly produce an iPod compatible version, if it's not too much hassle?
Thanks!
CocoaFox Minefield (TUAW.com)
Aug 17th 2006 12:07PM "Minefield" is the code name for Fx 3.0, so it sounds to me as it will replace Carbon widgets with Cocoa, but still also use XUL, which has been pointed out is what Eztensions are based on.
2005 Oscar Quicktime trailers (TUAW.com)
Feb 10th 2006 5:40AM Aren't these technically the 2006 Oscars? I know the movies were released last year, but still..?
Apple to iPod nano service providers: Fix cracked screens (TUAW.com)
Feb 6th 2006 11:56AM Fabienne, I usually don't like pointing out this type of thing, but apostrophes shouldn't be used for plural nouns, so the sentence should read "iPod nanos' not "iPod nano's".
eMac disappears from Apple Store (again), goes edu only? (TUAW.com)
Feb 1st 2006 1:28PM There's plenty of them at the design school at my university. If they disappear from the Mac line-up I'm not sure what the upgrade path will be... Maybe minis with seperate monitors?
Another interesting thing to note on the product page you linked to is the eMac boasts "iLife ’05 — which includes the latest versions of iMovie HD, iPhoto, iTunes, GarageBand, and iDVD"... Er, wrong! Could this finally be its end?
Explorer vs. Firefox: The Movie (Download Squad)
Dec 6th 2005 4:25AM "That chick" being Amanda Congdon, and Rocketboom being a great show.
Firefox 1.5 G5-optimized Version (TUAW.com)
Nov 30th 2005 9:40AM fungible, "Deer Park" was the code name for what is now Firefox 1.5. I suspect it's the same thing.
Bad luck with PowerBooks (TUAW.com)
Nov 28th 2005 10:05AM The only problem I've had with my hardware since I bought my first Mac in March is with the wireless keyboard, which kept picking up and dropping its connection every couple of seconds. I had it replaced with no fuss by a local reseller and have (so far) had no further problems. I agree though that Apple Care is advisable for recent switchers. P.S. To comment 2 by Tom, I think I'm right in saying that USB 2.0 devices will work in USB 1.1 ports, but at the lower transfer rate?
