T-Mobile announces HTC Touch Pro2 for August 12 availability (Engadget)
Jul 29th 2009 6:41AM So many people are down on WinMo phones, but every platform has some advantages that other phones don't.
WinMo might need a refresh but there is something that people are forgetting when it comes to gadgets, the community as a whole. The HTC WinMo phones have one of the most active communities I've ever scene. the fact that I can make my wizard(a really pokey phone spec wize) act like a BB, an Iphone, or a google phone at whim is a testament to the community. Sure there is a community of independent developers for the iphone, but join them and you become an outlaw, and lets not even mention the well intentioned yet stupidly and arbitrarily implemented app store submittal review. I'm not saying my phone is better than your phone, I'm saying mine does what I want it to do. Some people don't mind the lack of a physical keyboard, for me it's crucial because I prefer a tactile feel so I can type without looking (it's just the way my brain works) and the landscape layout of the keyboard is so expansive it makes typing something of any significant length the difference between a Porche and a Cadillac. until the landscape changes and there are more phones like this (ahem can I get a G1-2.0) I'm going to keep looking at the WinMo phones.

DOJ: No legislation for Network Neutrality (Download Squad)
Sep 8th 2007 10:18AM You are painfully mistaken if you believe consumers have a real choice between isps. In broadband you're lucky if in your area you can choose cable or dsl. This isn't the hey days of the 90's when there were literally isps blocks apart from each other, that was true choice. Without some sort of regulation for profit corporations have little incentive to improve their networks and *gasp* lower their prices. look at japan if you want to see a true competitive market. You'll see better service with less restrictions because the regulations prevented single company dominance which by the way is the purpose of regulation, and netnoot (god do people really call it that now).
