Nov 9th 2010 11:39AM I wish they'd release a version for the iPhone 4 -- I'd love to try this out.

Trend Micro raises a stink over Security Essentials via Windows Update (Download Squad)

Nov 5th 2010 1:44PM Trend Micro is just pissed off because their product is too darn expensive, and it's not significantly better than Microsoft Security Essentials so they are terrified. I applaud Microsoft for offering this to people who are unprotected, and for making it an optional install -- we all know that Apple would have opted everyone in because that's the kind of sketchy move they often make.

Best Twitter Apps for iPhone (Switched)

Jul 20th 2010 3:49PM clearly we have vastly different opinions of what a good aesthetic is -- Tweetdeck is a nightmare whereas Twitter for iPhone/Tweetie is a breathe of fresh air. Tweetdeck is a dark overly busy mess of a UI that has horrendous contrast between the text and the background.

Twitter for iPhone is clean, has great contrast, and hides the advanced features until you swipe to uncover them.

It's obviously a matter of taste, but I never expected something to give Tweetdeck the edge for aesthetics -- features maybe, but definitely not aesthetics.

Microsoft Security Essentials 2 beta now available for download (Download Squad)

Jul 20th 2010 1:40PM Honestly I'm quite glad it's "IE only" as I don't want that crap cluttering the browser(s) I actually use -- like Chrome and Firefox.

Microsoft Security Essentials 2 beta now available for download (Download Squad)

Jul 20th 2010 1:38PM 1. use IE to download
2. use the MS Connect download manager tool (this is why you need IE)
3. download the file ...problem solved.

I tried a bunch of different steps before I was able to get the download to fully complete, but the above steps should work.

Great app, rock solid so far. MSE just keeps getting better.

Apr 27th 2010 9:43AM surprisingly polished, but my wifi is being flaky. It worked great after I installed the driver for it ...but now after rebooting it refuses to work ever again. .... it really shouldn't be the difficult to use.
