The Birth Control Nobody's Heard Of -- Is the IUD Right for You? (Lemondrop)

Apr 14th 2010 2:24PM Women who have not had children are much more likely to experience problems such as difficult insertion, severe cramping, and expulsion of IUDs, and this is why most doctors tend to discourage their use in nulliparas. Also, many doctors probably harbor some concern that if a patient later discovers that she her fertility is impaired, she will be likely to blame her infertility on the IUD and/or the doctor who inserted it.

Adobe Flash Player 10.1 gets a release candidate (Download Squad)

Apr 6th 2010 7:01PM I'm not trying to bring everything back around to Apple but I think that their persistence in refusing to allow Flash will eventually kill the format. Or at least make it about as relevant as Real Video. With the release of the iPad, many video content producers who previously were flash-only, are starting to use HTML5. Not saying it's good, but it is what it is. I believe Steve felt that if he held out long enough, he could bring about the demise of Flash, and to me it looks like he may have been right.

.xxx TLD delayed once more (Download Squad)

Mar 13th 2010 1:20PM @ ChuckJ - blocking objectionable content from one's kids is dead simple as long as they aren't yet sophisticated enough to change the DNS settings on your router (or use a proxy or use the neighbor's connection) - OpenDNS pretty much takes care of it.

Is this the Apple tablet? (update: new images) (Engadget)

Jan 27th 2010 10:49AM Someone please help. I am working this afternoon, and I want to view the entire presentation from the start, after I get off work, with no foreknowledge of what is to be revealed. Can someone provide a direct link to wherever the presentation will be viewable after-the-fact, so that I can go directly to it without having to click through a bunch of webpages that will surely ruin the surprise for me?

Get Windows 7's window-snapping tricks on your Mac with Cinch (Download Squad)

Dec 27th 2009 9:24PM Agree with Arnie, snaps are great and very intuitive. I'd like to hear from any users who've used Cinch about how it compares to Win7's Aero Snap.

Battery-less remote gets power from button presses, aims for production in 2011 (Engadget)

Nov 18th 2009 6:47PM If you don't use it for a few months, will you have to press some buttons a couple dozen times to get it primed before using it?

MMS for iPhone 2G and tethering on OS 3.1.2 explained, not for the faint of heart (Engadget)

Oct 19th 2009 10:08PM OK am I missing something about the re-enabling of tethering? I have 3.1.2 with the Blackrain jailbreak and PDAnet, and I just got back from a long roadtrip this weekend that involved many hours of in-car surfing on a tethered netbook. I certainly don't consider myself anything more than a "casual iPhone jailbreaker". Is the warning off of the "casual iPhone jailbreaker" due to the fact that a jailbreaker doesn't need this patch in order to tether?

Sanyo's new eneloop bike gets carbon fiber frame, traction control brain (Engadget)

Jul 27th 2009 3:32PM Yeah that's the problem with commuting on a $6000 bike. You've spent $4000 to shave that last few pounds, then you've got to carry a 5 pound Kryptonite lock or some such to protect it.
The solution is to leave a lock on the rack at your workplace, if possible.
